Default Electronics: Glossy or Matte Finish?

Do you prefer a glossy finish or surface on you electronics,(ie PS3's, desk/laptops, lcd/led monitors and tv's, mobile phones, etc.) or do you prefer a matte finish?

As you noticed most of the newer models of electronics that are coming out in the market has this glossy finish on them which is undeniably sleek. Also this characteristic adds up to the vibrant picture quality when talking about lcd/led displays. However I find this particular characteristic hard to maintain.

They easily caught up dirt and smudges which would really look nasty if you won't bother cleaning them. And when you do, you would fear that the surface might be scratched even if you're am already using a microfiber cloth, like it is so FRAGILE. (take note! on a microfiber packaging it says "using a microfiber cloth is not a guarantee that your electronics won't get scratches as there maybe some scratch causing dirt on the surface." URGH!!!)

So anyway, after having to careful maintain my own piece of electronics(which is an HP Pavilion Slimline Pc and if you saw it in the stores, the lcd and the cpu are pretty sleek and GLOSSY), scratches are starting to show up!!! I hate seeing the scratches! The "GLOSSY" perfection is already tainted.

They should have been made scratch proof, otherwise I prefer matte! What you do you think?

Matte finish over Glossy anyday. Matte only has a minor drawback that is dirt/dust/sweat(if its a handheld device) accumulates easily in the surface although malimpyo ra.

Glossy, sexy look. Although problem kaayo ang scratches and dirt/dust. The scratch problem is irreversible pud.

I had my lessons on using correct substances on cleaning devices and you should always double check if that substance is the correct one. I messed a part of the glossy finish of my Samsung 17 inch monitor when i thought i was pouring gas to get rid of the adhesive thingy from the screen protector. When I noticed the problem, i checked the substance and it was acetone

Matte all the way! but if lcd panel ang sturyahan, i find the glossy ones easy to clean.

Matte over glossy here. Better pixel accuracy than glossy LCDs, although glossy LCDs have an edge in looking vibrant which is cool esp. when watching movies. But I find it annoying to see dust all over the screen. Plus there's a window positioned behind where I sit, which makes things 999x times worse.

I use ethyl alcohol + water solution to clean glossy surface. But just water if it's rubber-matte finish.
