before anything else you should backup your itouch via itunes so all your purchases, apps, notes, settings and the like are safe.

Then go ahead and purchase the ipod touch 3.0 firmware off of itunes store. Yes you need to buy this from itunes.

After updating, itunes will give you the option to restore from backup or set it up as a new itouch.If you set it up as a new itouch, your apps and all the other data you backed up will not be restored. However, you may re-download the apps you installed via the app store for free granting you already purchased them.

try google. naa gyud na ang firmware lurking. also when you jailbreak aw. mas "daghan" pa gyud na apps ma install nimo. ang method nga gi post nako mau na ang official method. but yeah pwede ra nimo ma backup imong apps. and all the apps found in your current OS naa na sa 3. check out the iphone/itouch tips and tricks thread for more info and help.

if im not mistaken, i think its the same sa iphone once u update to newer version all the contents will be erased that's y u need to have a back up for ur files...if u want to do it with yourself try this
