they will look at him as their leader on the court...
Allen Iverson announced Wednesday morning that he is indeed joining the Memphis Grizzlies. Via his Twitter feed, Iverson wrote: "God Chose Memphis as the place that I will continue my career." ESPN.com
mas maayo na maka sign sya basin naa pay chance
di gihapon ni playoff contender ang memphis.. puro ra niya ni one on one ila plays.. hakub jud nis AI, he's not after the ring, happy na siya highest scorer siya..
Di ta kaingon sad ug ing-ani oi. Tanan players man jud siguro kay ganahan jud maka-champion, ang kang AI lang kay he never had a chance to compete for championship again since his 76ers days. Then after his contract expired, he realized how most GM's think of him as a cancer to their teams, but GM Howard Heisley sees this as an opportunity; ticket sales baby!
Memphis' original offer was something about $5million, but seeing the lowest of interest from other teams, they lowered it to $3.5million. However, pwede na mo-increase to $4.4million if the Grizzlies renounce their rights to Spanish guard Juan Carlos Navarro.
As I see it, if AI meshes well with Conley, Gay, Mayo, Randolph and Gasol, ok kaayo. BUt if not, AI can always be shelved, after all, he doesn't have a contract of $21million that he made from last season, so ok ra kaayo kung i-sideline lang or, in this case, as a trade bait (as an expiring contract).
Pagka-paet.
AI is surely going to use MEM to revive his career. It's gonna be tough for Mayo, Conley, and most importantly, Gay - as he's going to eat up their minutes and shots. I mean if AI was not willing to give in to Detroit championship veterans, all the more he won't be budging in to these group of youngsters.
This is a financial move more than anything... a move meant to fill up seats in MEM... so sad...
iverson deserves it because of what he has shown. good for him he didn't end up following latrell sprewell's footsteps. it's his chance to show what's left in him, who knows, he can turn memphis and bring them back to the playoffs to say the least. he's still got something in him and that's for sure and he can still improve his stock if he'll do good in memphis.
