Di naman guro na Frat and uban wui. I remembered Fraternities and Sororities during the late 80's kay affiliated man sa school. Naay mga community outreach programs, nindot og academic standings and mga members unya naa pa jud sports activity. Karon murag ang nahibaw-an puro nalang "patay" "riot" "kawat".

No need to mention names, you know who you are. IMHO

5 persons at roadside shot and wounded | Sun.Star Network Online

THE fraternity war in Cebu City continues, with five persons waiting by the roadside in Barangay San Nicolas Proper shot by suspected gang members at dawn yesterday as the latest casualties.

The three laborers and two trisikad drivers were rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center after the attack. One of them is in critical condition.

Senior Insp. Noel Lomente, San Nicolas Police Station chief, believed the victims were mistaken for members of a fraternity previously involved in shooting incidents against a rival group.

Lomente identified the victims as Junrey Pedilina Pude, 19; Jomar Linday Jumawan, 19; Julito Arriesgado, 24; Rodrigo Mahinay, 36; and Rolando Piel, 38.

The Cebu City Homicide Section said the attack happened after Pude, Jumawan and Arriesgado, who work in a nearby factory, had just left a group of friends having a drinking session.

When they reached the corner of B. Aranas and J.M. Basa Sts., the three workers decided to rest and sat on the curb of the sidewalk.

Mahinay and Rodrigo, on the other hand, sat nearby in their parked trisikads, waiting for passengers.

At 3:20 a.m., three men suddenly appeared and fired at the five before fleeing towards C. Padilla St.

Arriesgado is in critical condition after a bullet entered the left side of his neck.

Pude suffered gunshot wounds in the left knee and left shoulder, while Jumawan was wounded in the left leg.

Mahinay, on the other hand, took a bullet in the right shoulder while Piel got shot in the right buttock.

Lomente said the victims may not have been the intended target, but the fraternity members seen drinking in the same spot hours before the assault.

Barangay Captain Edgar Lauron turned over to the police five empty shells fired from a .45 pistol and a deformed slug recovered from the crime scene.

Buko juice vendors told the police the gunshots woke them up.

They saw three men fleeing on foot, their faces covered with cloth.

Last Friday, shop attendant Roy Escorpion, a fraternity member, was shot in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City after getting a haircut.

The police believe the attack was in retaliation for the fatal shooting of Roy Christian Cabaron, a rival gang member, last Sept. 3. (MEA)
