but they could be the known warriors in the past.

They were just created by an elite group of creative storytellers in their time.

In their time,
everyone can "chip-in" their ideas of characters and stories
and everybody else fills it in.

Same way creative writers make a movie story today.

Bruce Lee does not need fairy tales like this for some people to be astonished.
He didn't even bacame famous because of fairy tales like this. It was an entirely different situation.
One thing also I have never heard of things like him able to walk in water.
