I wouldn't knock sony down. I do shoot with canon but that's
because most of my friends shoot canon so it's easier to swap
lenses and other accessories.

when I started off shooting as a full time professional i was
shooting with a Sony DSC-F717 and these are some of the
published commercial shots I got from that...

My point here is Sony is massive world wide brand that will indeed attract the masses or those new to photography purely on

the strength of its name! Sooner or later, sony will creep or eat a chunk of the pie. Canon & Nikon won't ignore Sony simply

because they are in business to make money. If a Sony product is competitive with Canon & Nikon, it would be absurd for

them to ignore it. They'll answer the competition and seek to surpass it.

That's the way business is supposed to work.

What Sony is managing to do to both Nikon and Canon - is putting major pricing pressures on their mid-level, and pro level DSLR's.

This is a good thing for us all Canon or Nikon users.

If ingon ana ang price, why not? Especially if bag-o pa lang ka sa DSLR world.

ug lens unta sa imong mga friends labi na if ga-plan ka mopalit ana nga lens.

This is great news! Now Sony has to focus on marketing and customer support. By then it will be Sony on top of them all! Many don't realize that they have Carl Zeiss lenses... Its a fact that Canon's L and Nikon's N lenses will never match with the Zeiss's. They are the greatest!

as expected... as photography "enthusiasts" are getting very rampant nowadays, they prefer compacts & portability. but serious to professional photographers, of which are only few, prefer broader range of compatible attachments, controls, and "true" performance.


on the other side, this triggers to disclose the new arsenals of canon and nikon ^^

Though the 'big two' have yet to show their hand in the increasingly competitive compact system camera arena, Nikon has hinted at plans to launch a mirrorless model.

Last year Nikon President Makoto Kimura was quoted as saying that a 'new concept' model is likely to boast enhanced video functionality.

'It could be any time this fiscal year or the following year, as new models are starting to sell,' he told a news agency.

This suggested Nikon may be ready to announce a compact system camera before the end of March.

and when this shall come, maayo unta mo barato pa gyud ang prices sa standard dslr para maka afford intawn ko og upgrade(upgrade sa damgo | lami na kaayo e dug og katog sa nikon d300s, nyahahaha!)... ^^
