@********r ... give me your exact refractive correction on both eyes.

    - actually lasik is not that 100% guarantee that your vision will go back to normal. there are three factors that your eye needs to attain 20/20 vision. - the refractive ( your cornea, your lens ) - the sensory ( your retinal integrity, your choriod health, your optic nerve health ) and the E.O.M ( your extra ocular muscles ).

.. in lasik only the refractive factor is being remedied, in layman's terms, lasik is a procedure that alters the shape of your cornea. your cornea contributes to 2/3 of your refractive section of your eyes.

.. high prognosis of lasik are those persons who doesn't have systemic diseases ( diabetes, hypertension ), no anomaly in their retina and their extra ocular muscles are in good working conditions.

@ronn, actually cataract removal and lasik are two different things. Lasik is done only on the cornea, while cataract is a condition in which your crystalline lens has become opaque and the term for cataract extraction is .....phacoemulsification

@metz, have you been diagnosed as having cataract how old are you ?? And yes, having a cataract will probably have you declined for lasik, they will get your cataract first, then replace your crystalline lens with an artificial lens called I.O.L. .. intra ocular lens...

.. here's a picture of a cross section of the eye

.. sorry, but i don't know the price range of Lasik.. just refer to your ophthalmologist for that.
