People experiment with their cam because it's possible that some settings are best left alone. Or that a certain accessory works best on a certain product.

I've own different cameras before and there's one camera with "soft" feature that doesn't really work.

Dude.. don't believe everything you read on the manual. Some gadgets don't really behave as what's stated on the manual. I'm interested with users who have already experimented with the different settings of D90. Users who have tried different setup.. lenses, filters,... etc.

To the guy who believes everything that's in the manual, I hope you didn't post anything on this thread. It makes you appear so naive... and such an arse...

Pchan is right, if u want to master the camera read the manual or memorize the manual.
if you want to be a good photographer start taking good pictures
if you want to be a an award winning photographer start taking epic/creative and win those competitions

One reason why new features are introduced in a cam is because of marketing. Take it from someone who has worked in a camera manufacturing firm for more than 8 years. And sometimes those new features don't really work well as stated on the manual.

It's beyond what's on the manual that I'm after. I didn't say don't read the manual or I haven't read the manual. While I agree that you have to test the cam to be familiar with it, not all of the users here have the luxury of time to do it. The learning curve is a bit longer for some who are not professional photographers. I'm sure some D90 users here are MORE familiar with the camera and that they might have discovered some tricks that they could share to others.

P-Chan, if you find this thread too "newbie" for you, then by all means stay away from it. If you're a D90 user, it's either you share or stay silent.

This thread is becoming useless because of some ppl trying to be a smart arse.

I have a Canon SX10IS. If you read the manual, it'll tell you there's no RAW support. If I stop there, I wouldn't know that it's possible to take RAW pictures if I use CHDK firmware addon. That's one obvious trick available on the net. If you read the manual, it'll say there's no filter threads on lens. But you stop there, you won't know about Lensmate's filter adapter for SX10 that will allow you to use a 58mm filter. Aside from that, some members here have successfully attached a 52mm filter on SX10.

Guess what? now I want to know if there are tips and tricks for Nikon D90 and again, if you don't have anything to contribute, just stay silent. If there's none for D90, then I wouldn't mind getting this thread locked.

tell me if you find something "useful" (you know what i mean)
Add-ons and 3rd party accessories.. daghan kaayo that's why I'm asking for specifics... what's best for what. What other users are using for their D90. Their experience with their D90 and not about what they've read on the net.

I've been to the sites you've posted .... even before I bought my D90. and yes there were some good infos on those site.

And just to let you know, I have a copy of Thom Hogan's Complete Guide to the Nikon D90 1st ed. and wish I have a copy of Michael Gradias Nikon D90 in english.

Anyway, this thread is not about learning how to use DSLR in general.. or Basic photography 101...
There are threads already for those.
