yeah!!!kind of reminds of The Crow.The Crow whose real name is eric,was very much deeply in love with his girlfriend shelly.one night,their car broke down and a group of street thugs assaulted them.shot eric in the head,while still alive and very much paralyzed from the shot,witnessed the rape and murder of his shelly.shelly died,eric was rushed to the hospital and died.a crow (sort of like a guide to the death's world) will resurrect eric after his death.soon after,with the help of the mysterious bird.eric was resurrected into this being who cannot die from injuries and is immune to pain (plus the cool "death-mime" make-up).but,the twist is,the crow is actually in agonizing pain from being apart from his love,shelly.well,he goes after those bastards who raped and killed shelly.one by one.....Well,thats the comic book version but the movie adaption is even more amazing.Brandon (bless his soul) was the PERFECT crow! I dont know about the crow influencing comic book world.But,check out the wrestling and rock music world and your bound to run into some bastards putting on similar make up as The Crow...

Though Suture is the most influential comic character on me (I like the revenge part. It reminds me of mobsters way of living, "If there is another thing I love in this world, it will be revenge"), Superman is the ultimate one.

no. original golden age batman. the dude carried a gun and killed mobsters ala "Punisher" fer chrissakes.

yeah, you could say that. but maybe the real reason he's so identifiable is because he is so influential. he's NOT the first to wear a cape. He's NOT the first to have super-strength or flight... but he IS the most influential when it comes to standard super-heroes. there MUST be somthing special there.

what is it? i dont know. but i once read a thesis about kal-el being likened to jesus. it was tripped out, but it was really good.
