EPEC is only needed if you intend to find work in Singapore where it will be converted into 1 year of multiple-entry social visit pass. This pass does NOT allow you to work in Singapore, it merely allows you to stay longer in Singapore (unlike tourists, which are given only 1 month to stay) for you to find work. If ever you were able to find work in Singapore, your employer will be responsible for getting an Employment Pass (EP) for Professionals, Work Pass (SPASS) for semi-skilled, or a Work Permit (WP) for you. Once you have any of those passes, It now means that you can work for your employer. Take note also that an the pass I mentioned are "employer bound", meaning you can only work for the employer who sponsored your EP, SPASS or WP, you cannot get this by yourself. Also note that on paper, EPEC holders should be getting an EP pass and not an SPASS or WP, and sometimes it can be grounds for rejecting the application. Another thing to note is that the EPEC is NOT renewable, once you have used it, you cannot re-apply again.

Also note that when leaving the Philippines, don't ever mention EPEC to Philippine immigration, it doesn't have value to them, it is only recognized here in Singapore. It would only complicate things if you mention it to them, it may give them the wrong signal that you are trying to work or look for work in Singapore illegally, under which you would be advised to apply for an OWWA/OEC first, or worse you will not be allowed to board your flight.

Not to discourage anyone here pud. Kanang Sept. to Nov. timeframe, gamay ra gyud hiring ana compared to other months.

The reason is because during this time, everyone is holding on to their jobs, and will only let go after makuha na nila ilang year end bonuses. That time will usually be after Jan. or Feb., right after the Chinese new year, thats the time na makakita ka ug baga kaayo nga Recruit section sa Straits Times.

But then again swerte swerte lang, ampo lang pud kay daghan na au mo ka-kompetensya diri nga mga pinoy na nangita pud ug work. I've recently met another pinoy here ngita ug work, almost 9 months na siya ngita wala pa gihapon, mayna lang kay iya igsoon naa naman diri maka support sa iyaha. Pero paet gyud kung ing-ana mahitabo. Be prepared for mental and emotional stress, labina gyud financially kay di baya barato ang cost of living diri.
