Camera actuation is also known as the shutter count. It's basically the number of times the camera slaps it's shutter. The count can be seen on the exif of an image taken from the camera. Here's one the you can use (Nikon) Exif viewer : Opanda IExif - Professional EXIF / GPS / IPTC Viewer & Editor in Windows, IE & Firefox and Really Useful Software for Nikon DSLRs
    (use an un-edited image)

Check Nikon Digital SLR Camera Shutter Count with Opanda IExif

Yes, I believe that the glass can be replaced. I am not from Cebu so I cannot tell you a specific place but it would be best if you give your manufacturer a ring.

    Unsolicited advise:
I assume that you are in the market for a second hand?
In reality, the shutter count is a statistical/ball park figure. You must always take in other considerations when buying a second hand camera. Basing a purchase on shutter actuations alone is like buying a car based on how many miles it has on the speedometer without looking at the service records and overall condition of the vehicle.

wow thank you for your inputs, I'm sure people that is newbie in the photography will read this.

    operated.

I have used the Opanda for other Exif reasons.
I am a canon user and I just tried checking if I'll be able to see the Total Number of Shutter Releases to no avail. I also tried a Sony T3, still none. I believe Opanda works well with Nikons.
Everything on exif works for point and shoot and Canon but the count itself.

There's gotta be something out there, I'm just not paying too much attention to it.

As I mentioned earlier, there are more things to consider aside form the actuations. I'll only be concerned about it if I feel that it's time for my cam to go for service or I'm on the selling end of a deal.

Anyway, here's a Dbase of shutter life expectancy:

Im using Opanda for shutter speed release count. Not all Nikon or Canon are supported on this software pero ang D40 is 100% working. makita gyud ang actuation count.

    Default we need

actually we need a reputable proof bro nga nag list of all the SLR's max shutter count.
kay katong database nga gi post kay thats the average from the User's experience so +/- and
pwde sad dili tinood ang results kay based man sa inputs sa mga users.

so we need a list nga gikan ba sa manufacturer saying nga mao ni ang shutter max count ani nga model and
brand. kung naa kay makita please post dinhi para sa others.

    thanks.
