oi indai, who is dumb enough not to know savings is important? ang danvil nakapa realize sa imoha unsa ka importante ang savings? how pathetic....

in my case, sauna rako nangita ug ways how to save and kato gidagit ko sa danvil kay tungod sa kamaayo nila mu diskarte ug mu storya nadala ko sa ilaha.... then, ako gi huna huna.... savings bya na, lisud bya mag save kanunay noh then kana danvil MONTHLY bya magbayad for 5 years (well 7 years sa akoa plan) so mahog na hinuon mura kag gabayad ug utang. and kung basahon nimo ang mga documents naa didto naka state na if dili ka makabayad for pila ka months, CANCELLED imoha account and there's nothing there that said ihatag nila sa imoha ang money balik.

i can't believe just how naive you are. huna hunaa pud after 5 years sure jud ka makuha nimo imo money? kay ako dili kabalo ka ngano? ga search gud ko sa internet and i found out this company changed their names 3 times already tungod nalugi sila sauna.... so TY na imo SAVINGS...

after ko nag search ani bahin nila, and i recalled what happened to me that day, nawala jud ako trust sa ilaha. first, kato ila gi kuha ako card, and they said "ma'm ato tanawon kung approved ba imo credit card", nya next thing i know gi swipe na diay nila dayun ang amount!! after nila gi swipe ako card, diha pa ko nila gi ingnan ako pa daw mu tawag sa bank and ask them na ako ipa installment ang bayad nako sa ila (while danvil got the whole amount, ako na nuon utangan sa banko for it!!!)...

if legit jud ni ilaha, and they are helping us, why only say "this promo is only for today" na when i told them i'll think about it, mao na ila gi ingon sa akoa then dili na daw ko maka balik. so mao na... i rest my case....

hulat nalang jud ko na mabalik to ako kwarta... almost 3 weeks more to go.........

edit: i called citibank and requested na ako i-paylite ang kato na transaction, ning sugot lagi pero bayad pud ko 1.54% interest!!! sus TY na ang 200 pesos... isave unta na pero gibayad para addition sa utang.. hahay

Daniel Villanueva: Founder and President, Danvil Holdings
    February 15, 2009

After Berkley International became Danvil Plans in March 2007, I started researching on the Internet who this Mr. Daniel Villanueva is. Who is this man who single-handedly took on the acquisition of Berkley for 1.25 billion pesos? Does this man have the ability to lead Danvil so that by 2010, I could get my money and so that other pre-need planholders could also get theirs in the years to come?

Until now, there are only a few notes on the Internet about Mr. Villanueva that I’ve read.

One is an article by Elizabeth Sanchez-Lacson on Inquirer.net on April 11, 2007. This article said that Mr. Daniel Villanueva held top positions in the life insurance industry for many years, including:
president of John Hancock Life Insurance Corp.
project consultant Arthur Andersen Business Consulting
president of PT-NIAGA-CIGNA Life Insurance in Indonesia
senior vice president for operation of Lincoln Philippine Life Insurance Co.
executive vice president and chief finance officer of Berkley International Plans

Sanchez-Lacson said that Mr. Villanueva helped run Berkley and its marketing unit Family First for 7 years, administering 60,000 active plans, trust fund assets of 3.8 billion pesos and planholder liabilities of 3.2 billion pesos. She also noted that much of the growth of Danvil is credited to Mr. Villanueva.

She also said that Danvil Holdings was incorporated in November 1996 as a real estate corporation, and later also as a financial service corporation.

The second article is on the web site of prudentialife. It says that Mr. Villanueva received an award from Nenita Agustin, senior vice president of Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Co., for being one of the top producers in 2007.

Now this one leaves a question in my mind. Why would Mr. Villanueva receive an award from Prudential as a producer? Was Mr. Villanueva a general agent of Prudential? Did Danvil incorporate a Prudential life plan into Danvil’s products in 2007? I bought my Danvil plan in 2000 and I didn’t buy any other Danvil plan after, so I didn’t know that Danvil sold Prudential Life plans.

Perhaps this explains a complaint by someone named Huggs on pc-tipid.com. He says that his friend bought a Prudential Life plan from Danvil, but they could not trace the OR of his first payment when they called up Prudential Life.

From my research on Danvil and Mr. Daniel Villanueva on the Internet, all the bad things associated to Danvil arise from its aggressive marketing and sales tactics in the malls. Many of those commenting are calling Danvil a scam because of these tactics, especially customers forced or pressured by sales agents into swiping their credit cards. They also interpret the changing of the name from Family First to Danvil as one scam tactic.

With regards to any bad thing said about Mr. Villanueva, I found none.

This is in contrast to the case of Legacy’s Celso de los Angeles Jr. when I researched about him after planholders were informed that Danvil’s pre-need plans were being bought by Legacy. Try researching Mr. De Los Angeles and you’d be surprised at various kinds of unsavory things said about him both in his personal life and professional life, even before Legacy collapsed. It was really providential that the 2008 Legacy deal did not push through. I applaud Danvil for this. In my very first email to Danvil after the Legacy deal announcement, I mentioned those things said about Mr. De Los Angeles.

About claims, I haven’t read about or heard of any Danvil planholder whose plan have matured in 2008 complaining on the Internet that Danvil failed to pay his/her claims. What about you? Have you heard or read about someone not receiving his/her 2008 maturity proceeds from Danvil?

    Another Bloggers post.

This is a not-so-new marketing strategy but to customers this approach is questionable. Anyway, Danvil Plans Scamers or whatever it is has invaded Cebu! And their marketing ploy and strategy is a good example for our topic for this post.

First, Danvil Plans is a legitimate company but Danvil Plans is formerly known As Family First, Incorporated , and Berkley Plans. So you might wonder why there has been a lot of changes on their business names – so do I – but one thing is certain a lot of people have already voiced their complaint against this company.

Just recently, Danvil Plans has opened an office in SM City, Cebu. Guess what? They just approach anybody – of course assuming that they have credit cards. Staff and their annoying marketers and front lines are just everywhere around SM City waiting for the hunt.

In a few minutes the hunt begins of which me and my girlfriend were the hunted. Actually, we were just sitting down just in front of their office. I Was also curious why there are a lot of people coming in and going out. My bet was this is another damn networking thing – I was wrong but almost made it right. This “bakla” – i really don’t get his name – who introduced himself to us and Danvil Plans. And yes! They want to know first if you have a credit card for you to qualify for the raffle, gifts etc..

Anyway, here’s what I get online on how these guys push you to use your credit card.

    How do they do it?

1.) Prospecting – Beware of these scammers at the mall. They are many and will block your way. Do not entertain them. If you do they will proceed with #2.

2.) Getting your trust – Will assure no that no money is involved. Only survey and after getting your trust they will proceed with #3.

3.) Centering – Will lead you to their office and attend a 45 min talk that will introduce their company. You will sign that you cannot leave that 45 min session so you are oblige to listen to them.

4.) Mind manipulation – Will talk about your family and dreams. **** them!!! And will give you a form that will write down your personal information. I knew it was a scam the moment they ask me for my mother’s maiden name! Never ever give it to them it’s genealogy.

5.) Pressure - Those bastards will pressure you and wont let you talk and explain. One after another they will manipulate your mind.

6.) Payment – This is a very tricky and clever way of getting 6k to your credit card. They will say that it needs approval of the back versus your credit card company. And if it’s not approved then they will say “sorry, we can’t do anything if the bank doesn’t approve it”. Oh yeah, i thought it will take a day for approval but guess what, it took 2 seconds. Why? Because they automatically deduct 6k from your credit card already. The approval is already a ****ing TRANSACTION without your permission. Clever eh?

7.) Policy – They will give you the policy last and little did you know that you are scammed after getting it. Their explanation is so different with the policy and will not match plus there is no refund. Bye bye 6k.

Just exactly what he did to us while inviting us inside their office for a 45-minute presentation.

Anyway, we agreed to follow him but man! I’m starving so if these guys won’t treat me right they’ll learn their lesson in front of the crowd.

Okay, we were referred to their front desk – a well trained front desk actually- she then asks if I agree for a 45 minute presentation and at first I declined because I’m really hungry. So the front desk ask someones assistance – 2nd in command on luring us to agree – so I said yes, but told the front desk “IF THIS THING IS JUST A WASTE OF MY TIME AND UNPRODUCTIVE I’M GONNA BLOG THIS ONE.” To my surprise she doesn’t care and only to find out that the blogosphere has all the information already about them.

Anyway, we patiently waited and 15 minutes have passed I called up that guy who ushered and recruited us. I told him we’re living because its now waste of my time and I told him I really hate wasting my time. And he started using another form or argument but I just told him you have to respect that because that’s who I am.
