What's the difference between Outbound sales agent with Virtual sales assistant?

They are similar in the sense that they both do outbound calls. With the current accounts we have, however, the Virtual Sales Assistant, is tasked with the first step in the sales cycle - that is to find leads, do account mapping and set the appointment for our clients' sales consultants. It seems easy but it's a very challenging task.
