a parliamentary maybe good or not for this country.... but i got some inputs in the federal form even in a republic we are already abit fragmented considering cultural diffrences just think of how many local dialects do we have in the philippines from batanes to sulu what more in a federal in which usually the each govenor of each province have some kind of presidential powers( but it depends but federal type usually have their own some kind of provincial legislature and supreme court) .. maybe it could lead us more fragmented particulary the south and eventually lead us into smaller independent states ngeeeek wag naman oi unsa man niOriginally Posted by jerx d great
Our present constitution must be ratified for the retention of the Senate. Equal representations per Region, say 3 or 4 senators. This is to lessen number of corrupt officials! More than half of the congressmen are not lawyers and yet their main functions are to create laws!
i totally agree with you...we are the ones paying them and look what they have done...theyre wasting it...Originally Posted by tolstoi

Abolish people not doing good in Senate...

^yeah, like: Bong, Lito, Loi, Jinggoy
No.
But the Senators that we should sit in the Senate should be the best and the brightest lawmakers of the land.
As is the case, the public votes for anybody to be a senator - moviestars, newscasters, elitista and others whose only claim to fame are their beautiful and handsome bearings.
Reason?
The public can't see nor feel any difference between the hollowed grounds of the senate (sana) and the movie/tv screen/movie location. They can't recognize the output of a good statesman from the possible output from a moviet star. Sa pagtingin nila pareho langÂ* --- most of them are acting and like to grab the limelight and the worst part - lahat (except Senator Flavier, who is my idol. He has been consistent, a silent worker since his days as the "The Doctor in the Barrios") gusto maging leading man/woman.
Solution?
Its anybody's guess ... If you ask any of us Filipinos we can enumerate all the ills of the country and even dish out a plausible solution to each malady besetting the country... But the needed change we always tend to direct it to others ...rarely to our ownselves.
