Anyone knows how DNS work? I mean, could one possibly create a new domain extension. Like for example dot.tk. Is it possible to create our own? Provided we have the server on our own. What procedures to take in order to setup it in your own server. Please enlighten me..

I was thinking maybe somehow, in anyway, we could create a domain extension like "cebu" or "cbu".. "darkmatter.cebu" "darkmatter.cbu".. Hehehe!

It's not called an extension. It's called a top level domain. No you cannot get your own top level domain name. ICANN dictates the top level domain names.

sorry not possible. i-register na lng ang cbu.ph na domain para kung mag himo kag imong subdomain it would look like mysubdomain.cbu.ph... pero i doubt naa pa ang cbu.ph na domain.

I was thinking about getting a domain of my own just like .tk and offer a lifetime free service for URL redirection. Some great dream huh?..
