Teletech nails fifth straight win in Inter-BPO caging

CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion Teletech Titans coasted to their fifth straight victory in as many games at the expense of Wipro, 78-66, in the 5th Inter-BPO Basketball Championships last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
The Titans trailed by seven at halftime, 29-36, but came out directing in the third period to snatch the driver's seat, 52-46, for good.
Laurenz Limpangog paced Teletech with 16 points, while Erwin James Abellanosa and Noel Clemente chipped in 25 markers combined.
John Paul Escudero was the lone double-digit scorer for Wipro with 15 points.
Western Wats, on the other hand, pummeled ICT Group, 59-49, with John Rivera and Dennis Poquita tossing in 12 points apiece.
Jomie Mendez and Ellery George Ariate of ICT Group conspired for 26 points in a losing cause.
In the other game, E-performax clobbered Cebu Global, 60-40, to even its win-loss record to 2-2.
Britz Boncalon and Raymond Dennis Tan topped E-performax with 15 points each. Michael Adam Pagdalian and Ben Beleña had 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Cebu Global.

E-PERFORMAX used a stiff defense in the third to break away from Cebu Global and register its second win in four games, 60-40, in the 2009 Inter-Call Center basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym last Saturday.
Raymund Dennis Tan and Britz Boncalon starred for e-Performax’s win as they scored 15 points each.
Trailing 10-12 at the end of the first quarter, e-Performax did just enough to tie the game at 25 at the half-time break.
The team suddenly roared and held Cebu Global to just four points to take a 41-29 lead entering the final period.
Michael Adam Pagdalian scored 13 points for Cebu Global’s fourth straight defeat.
Defending champions Teletech Titans bounced back from a sloppy start to beat WiPro, 78-66, in the opening match.
WiPro left the Titans 23-12 in the opening quarter before the patience of the defending champions zapped their energy slowly.
Teletech cut the 11-point deficit to 36-29 at the bend before delivering the kill in the third following a 23-10 run.
The Titans have now won their first five games.
Western Wats scored the other victory, 59-49, over ICT Group.
