well it is time to release dem since no one have been proven that they kill ninoy... still i see ninoy as modern hero; he use is skills in writings and speech to protest against the government even thought he was self exile he tried to help the country...

Ninoy fought for the exact freedom that you are enjoying right now. He exposed Marcos' plan to remain in power no matter the cost. If not for Ninoy's defiance and untimely death, we would probably be not be able to say or even do what we have learned to enjoy now.

Obviously, you did not experience martial law. Marcos' "achievements" was to sacrifice the filipino people just so that he remains in power. the reason why the dollar has gone up as well as our country's debts was because of the Marcoses, who while living on the lap of luxury, was using the billions of funding for their own personal use. the CCP? the condemned Experimental Cinema of the Philippines? look what has happened.

here's an excerpt of P.D. 1737 by Marcos

Section 2. Whenever in the judgment of the President/Prime Minister there exist a grave emergency or a threat or imminence thereof, he may issue such orders as he may deem necessary to meet the emergency including but not limited to preventive detention, prohibiting the wearing of certain uniforms and emblems, restraining or restricting the movement and other activities of persons or entities with a view to preventing them from acting in a manner prejudicial to the national security or the maintenance of public order, directing the closure of subversive publications or other media of mass communications, banning or regulating the holding of entertainment or exhibitions detrimental to the national interest, controlling admission to educational institutions whose operations are found prejudicial to the national security, or authorizing the taking of measures to prevent any damage to the viability of the economic system. The violation of orders, issued by the President/Prime Minister pursuant to this Decree, unless the acts are punishable with higher penalties under the Anti-Subversion Act, the Revised Penal Code or other existing laws, shall be punishable by imprisonment for not less than thirty (30) days but not exceeding one (1) year.

this meant that during that time, if Marcos thought you were going to commit a crime next week, he can have you jailed for a month. if Marcos thought that your song is subversive he can have you thrown in jail as well.

Ninoy Aquino was NOT a HERO. His death became popular because he is rich and influencial and the world's governments doesn't have anbody to work with against the Marcoses w/o dealing with the communist. There are other people during that time who have nothing to die for but only their freedom. But they fight with the proper cause against the repressive Marcos regime: all for nothing but democracy. Ninoy while fighting for a noble cause should have been thinking about the haciendas they own that were slowly taken by the Marcoses...just probably. I DON'T CALL NINOY A HERO but I gave him my fullest gratitude. His wife was a crap..until now.

it could possibly be because they were with marcos during the time of martial law. though people do regard them as the "heros of edsa".

for me, ninoy is not a hero....he was just a hero by mistake...

namatay siya, kay abi sa mga taw nga tungod sa iyang pagtuo pero nakaila ba mo ug word nga "front" lang? meaning to say, nagpa-as if lang para makuha ang loob sa mga taw, and when the time comes nga namatay siya, wa jud siya masayop, nakuha jud niya ang loob sa mga taw kay gipatay "kuno" siya...

well, for me, angay lang kay kung wa siya patya, there was a big possibility nga iya jud iinject ang komunista diris ato and vice versa, maayo sad nuon kay nahunong ang marcos regime pero dili si marcos ang tunok kung dili si imelda nga naai dako kaayong ambisyon...Marcos was a brilliant president back then, tungod lang ni imelda nabati sya....

sa pagkamatay ni ninoy, i don't think nga si marcos ang utok ato, coz we know nga kung ipapatay ni marcos si ninoy, dako jud kaayo ug gubot...naa nai ni come up nga storya ana nga si imelda jud ang utok ato mao nang nasuko si marcos pero unsa mai atong mahimo nga ang pilipino kung mamatyan puro man nindot ang ipangsulti about sa namatay wa man juy bati....that's why i'm not surprised nga si ninoy ang nanampiling sa atong kinyentos....
