About color separations
To reproduce color and continuous-tone images, printers usually separate artwork into four plates (called process colors)—one plate for each of the cyan, magenta, yellow, and black portions of the image. You can also include custom inks (called spot colors). In this case, a separate plate is created for each spot color. When inked with the appropriate color and printed in register with one another, these colors combine to reproduce the original artwork.
The process of dividing the image into two or more colors is called color separating, and the films from which the plates are created are called the separations.

To produce high-quality separations, you should work closely with the print shop that will produce your separations, consulting its experts before beginning each job and during the process.

From Adobe photoshop help:

To make color separations, the three additive colors (red, green, and blue) are translated into their subtractive counterparts (cyan, magenta, and yellow). In theory, equal parts of cyan, magenta, and yellow combine to subtract all light reflected from the paper and create black. Due to impurities present in all printing inks, however, a mix of these colors instead yields a muddy brown. To compensate for this deficiency in the color separation process, printers remove some cyan, magenta, and yellow in areas where the three colors exist in equal amounts, and they add black ink.

Pwede pud automatic sa Adobe illustrator og sa photoshop pero depinde sa imo printer.
Mas mayo gyud kon manual kay ma set man nimo ang toning range og ang mga angles.


Ang cost sa ako amo sa osa ka color separation kay 1k og dependi sad design.
