Default UV: photography in a different light

I put together a UV light setup about a few years ago. but it's been
sitting in the corner gathering dust due to a damaged switched.

finally said to heck with it and tore the switch out and crossed the wires.

    first try with my hand...

my daughters saw me experimenting and got all excited about it. I wound up
    painting their hands as well...

all photos as is direct from the camera except for resizing and text added
    in through photoshop

unfortunately that's all the colors I had at the time.

tried adapting my flash to get something close to ultraviolet light
as an experiment before tinkering with bigger studio strobes...

didn't quite get there but at least the paint reacts to it... oh well

was finally able to experiment with this further...

invited some of my students and a few friends over to Jon Unson's studio
    to play around with this

everybody helped out with the bodypainting

for another exposure capturing more of the "avatar skin" tone...
