Hiroshima - The A Bomb Dome

minna-san...kon nichi wa ( hello everyone) ...per samokan's request i am posting some pictures about Hiroshima. I lived in Hiroshima for a while and my condo was very near the hypo center of the first atomic bomb....The Peace Memorial Park is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites....and one of the monuments of the park and the most famous is the A-Bomb Dome (2 pics ...night shot and another one during the day) ...the third picture is the Cenotaph ( where the ashes of those who died are buried)....i hope one of these days Hiroshima's cry for PEACE will be heard by the whole world...

Wow! Is it true that there are still traces of radiation in that area (the dome where the bomb was dropped and is now being preserved as a shrine)?

Also is it really true that that area was ground zero and why was the dome intact?

@zengatsu....mao man unta na ang kuyaw ang traces of radioactive material....pero kon mobasa ka sa events after the bombing...na hibung jud sila na buhi dayon balik ang plants...mao to ang nag give ug hope sa people of Hiroshima to build again....wala na man kuno bro...gi na check man daw ni nila...pero wa na koy mahimo kay nakapuyo na ko dira ug dugay2...

@samokan....very nice in spring...there is a place an hour from hiroshima with THOUSANDS of cherry blossom trees....anogon jud wala na ko diha...i would have gladly invited you to come...

@arnoldsa....the dome you saw in the picture is probably 3 minutes walk from the hypocenter...it is the only structure that was not completely leveled off sa area sa blast...but of course ila sad gi renovate gamay aron mo withstand sa stresses.....

let me know guys if you are interested with more pics...stories...info...kay as i said dugay2 sad ko sa japan and ubay2 sad ko nasuroyan...(also places other than Japan) kay super ko ka laagan...i am also so willing to share kay in a way therapeutic pod nako...gives me time to reminisce it all...

now i wanna tell you about miyajima...miyajima is a small island duol ra sad sa hiroshima city...less than an hour travel...it is considered one of the three most scenic spots in japan....it is also one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites...The shrine is practically on the water...so kon high tide you get the feeling it is floating...and i think i heard nga the Torii ( orange gate sa shrines) is the only one of its kind in Japan nga naa sa dagat....inig low tide you can walk upto the torii sad....anyway here are dome pics of the island....truly nice....daghan deer ga lakaw2 like sa nara park....enjoy....
