Default Finally! Proof that we went to the moon, thanks to the LRO's first pass images.

Finally! Proof that we went to the moon, thanks to the LRO's first pass images of the Apollo 11, 14, 15, 16 and 17 sites (Apollo 12's landing site is scheduled to be photographed a few weeks from now).

Before I continue, let me say first that this thread was NOT created to challenge Apollo Hoax theorists, because I personally believe, unless these people go to the moon themselves and see the Apollo sites there, themselves, THEY WILL NEVER ACCEPT ANY VALID PROOF that you present to them, kay bisag unsaon pa nimo, dili dyud na sila motuo nga the Apollo landings really happened. In their case, it's more of a mental/psychological issue than anything else.

This thread was created for those who are NOT hoax-nuts--this thead was created to help ordinary people who still have doubts about the moon landings in the 1960's/70's, understand the meaning and significance of these photos. And here's great proof, fresh from oven (these LRO photos were taken just a few days ago).

    (from NASA)
    LRO Sees Apollo Landing Sites
    07.17.09

NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO, has returned its first imagery of the Apollo moon landing sites. The pictures show the Apollo missions' lunar module descent stages sitting on the moon's surface, as long shadows from a low sun angle make the modules' locations evident.

The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera, or LROC, was able to image five of the six Apollo sites, with the remaining Apollo 12 site expected to be photographed in the coming weeks.

The satellite reached lunar orbit June 23 and captured the Apollo sites between July 11 and 15. Though it had been expected that LRO would be able to resolve the remnants of the Apollo mission, these first images came before the spacecraft reached its final mapping orbit. Future LROC images from these sites will have two to three times greater resolution.

Ok guys, first, an introduction, para maka understand dyud mo what the photos are supposed to be saying.

The Apollo 11 descent stage is in the middle of the photo here (click on image to enlarge):

If nag-lisod mo'g kita, here's a detail...the LM is in the center of the image, along with it's long shadow.

That's the descent stage of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module. So how does it look like? Let me show you a simulated LM descent stage sitting on the Tranquility landing site, in Orbiter, the space flight simulator...

So ngano man nabilin ang descent stage sa moon? Simple...this is how the LM looks like with the ascent stage...

The ascent stage is where the astronauts ride. Basically, on landing, the descent stage fuel is used for braking and landing. And when it was time to leave the moon, the ascent stage "breaks off" from the descent stage (it acts as a launch platform), and leaves it behind, as shown in this video...

    or here
YouTube - Last Humans on the Moon

Ok, so now klaro na sa inyo, that the descent stage of Apollo 11 is still there on the moon...so how do we know, or what is the proof that these photos really shows the descent stages on the moon? Simple. First, check out these two Orbiter screenshot again...

I'm showing the descent stage again, but this time, I'm showing to you duha ka "sungay" nga shadow, caused by the RCS deflector shadows.
Now, a top view still from the simulation...notice the shape of the shadow...naay duha ka faint nga sungay diba?

Now, compare that shadow, with the shadow in this LRO photo...

Again, if you look closely at the shadow area, you can see the "sungay" (horns) cast by the RCS deflectors diba? Parehas dyud, matches the simulation

Again, take note, future photographs daw, will be of even higher resolution. Can't wait!

The other Apollo landing sites that LRO took of, can be found here.

It's clear that you do not understand the purpose of this post. The purpose of this post is to PROVE that all those stories nga sa AREA 51 daw gi-film ang Apollo 11 are NOT true. The purpose of this post is to verify nga tinuod dyud nga naka-adto sa moon sila Neil Armstrong ug Buzz Aldrin on Apollo 11, Dave Scott and Jim Irwin on Apollo 15, John Young ug Charlie Duke on Apollo 16, Gene and Jack on Apollo 17, and Alan Shepard and Ed Mitchell on Apollo 14. Klaro?

Here are the trails created sa tiil ni Alan Shepard ug Ed Mitchell during Apollo 14, katong gi-set up nila ang experiments package about 120 meters away from the LM...

...proof that Alan and Ed did walk on the moon, and this was NOT done in AREA 51. Klaro?

Ug kinsa man ning "nila" that you hoaxbuffs keep referring too? *shakes head*

Again, I'm really curious if you guys read posts thoroughly... let me repost the end part of the NASA article...

...Future LROC images from these sites will have TWO TO THREE times greater resolution.

The current resolution is about 1 meter per pixel, which is the current power setting of the LROC

    Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC)

If the LROC passes over them again, we will see about 0.5m per pixel or better resolution. Since minimum na ang 0.5m per pixel, there's another solution to get higher resolution (in my calculations, about 0.3 per pixel max), but now that becomes the QUIZ of this thread. What should LRO do to increase resolution? Let's see if your minds are sharp enough (simple celestial mechanics).

thanks for the info rodsky, now I believe that man has really landed on the moon. Before I believe na man landed but naa man gud ni gawas na it was only done at Area 51

    parehas diay ta comcam.. hehehe
anyway, mas importante ni sa kids nga nagduhaduha gyud sa kamatuoran sa moon landings. at least with good information makabalo sila unsa gyuy tinuod. can't wait for higher pic resolutions!!

"What should LRO do to increase resolution?"
pwedi pa ba magpaduol ang lro sa moon to get closer look?

I wish I can give you a prize, but yes, ethzneuron gets the correct answer.

The more accurate answer is "Decrease the lunar orbit altitude" or "decrease perilune/apilune", but you're still correct.

    @Vlad, yes Hasselblad
