Why is "Native Resolution" Important for Sharp Images?
When your video adapter settings match the pixel arrangement of your display (see What Does "Native Resolution" Mean?, every "piece" of video information is mapped a specific pixel in your display in a one-to-one manner. This produces the sharpest image.
If you select a video adapter setting other than the native resolution, the video card has to "estimate" the best arrangement of pixel color and brightness, which can lead to "fuzzy" images, "blocky" characters, a "stretched" appearance, or unwanted black bars and borders on your display
What Does "Native Resolution" Mean?
Your display adapter and your LCD perform best when the settings are matched.
"Native Resolution" is the setting at which the video adapter setting matches the pixel arrangement of your display. Another term for native resolution is "prime video mode".
