bro im glad that there opening big malls but im just afraid if magka daku ang business and they will end up monopolizing everything and they can control rents e pa mahal and mag lisud mga stores, its ruining other business parts in cebu especially downtown, i dont want ma sobraan cz ma end up na parihas sa wall mart sa u.s.a.. they have all the things cheaper and control everything. ang ma datu tag iya ra. im here in usa fortsmith, patai jud tanan negosyu tungod sa malls.

Yup it's true bai. That is why Mayor Osmeña turned down the original plan of the SM Group to build a second mall at the SRP which was supposed to be called "SM Southmall."

By the way, if anyone of you has seen the expansion of the SM City in Cagayan de Oro City (which was actually more of a multi-level parking building) I guess the one here in Cebu would also be similar to it in terms of architecture, etc..

Below is a picture of CDO's SM City annex building -- a multilevel parking area (5-levels including roof deck) with some leasable spaces at the ground floor. The one here in Cebu would also be a multi-level parking area (first 3 levels) and commercial spaces (upper two levels).

Note that the building looks like a boat.. Dili madugay naa na sad tay SM Super Ferry, hehehehe..

Loy, nahibawo ka ngano dako ang mall sa Manila? Naa may demand didto loy. Mas daghan ang mga tawo therefore mas daghan ang mamalitay. Impractical mag padako ka sa imong mga establishment kung walay demand. Tanawa ng Ayala business park. Kadugay na ana wa man lagi tukuri ug mga buildings.

The point is you cannot ARTIFICIALLY spur development. Expansion or development will only happen if there is demand. Na hala pagtukod mo ug mall sa SRP aber kun dili ba na langawon.

competitoin na siya bossing!! and if u think cebu has no power to be like manila, then ur wrong!!!! this island comprises heavily of middle class families!! so, the competition is very stiiff!!! dili pa ka ginahan ana! u have many places to choose from ug ang nice pa, S.M is expanding!!!! and there are other companies plan to built more malls to accommodate millions of cebuanos' demand as well as foreigners visiting this island!!!
