DVD writer cant read any disk after power unplug.....

Mga bro.. need help...

My friend in manila called me for help......

He accidentaly unplug the power cord of his DVD writer while the power is still ON.

He then turn off and plug the power cable of the dvd writer again. And then restart the PC ..

Everything looks fine and when he try to play a dvd movie, cd, audio cd, the drive doesnt read any more.

Worst thing it doesnt read any disk...


Is there any explaination for this... thank you....

bro try to re-flash it nlng with its own firmware.... otherwise open the DVD writer and try to see if naay nasunog na chip pero i doubt wala ra na masunog ang nahitabo ana its just like na brown-outan ra.... if pwede madala dri cebu i think i can help you with that... i also repair dvd/cd any optical drives ayaw lng sa laptop kay hasol...

ang kuyaw lang ana if dili lahos pagka-ibot nya ang terminals sa power nga plug since 2 mana ka power source kuyaw nya ma short ang pins. it powers both the servo for the lens and the motor for the disc to spin... if one of that is busted dili jud mo read....

Gi try na niya ug re-flash sa firmware. but no luck...
