A muslim man can marry a Christian girl(or any other religion),one of the reasons would be to expand the belief of Islam. However, certain restricitions exist on such marriages, especially if they occur in non-Muslim lands where Islamic law and religion is not prevailing. reason also is to expand the belief of Islam.

Muslim girls cannot marry a non muslim man to protect the woman of her rights and provide a moral safeguard and legal means. He may prevent her from carrying out her religious obligations by either pressuring her or physically abusing her. But it is not the sole reason for imposing the restriction. The situation is considered very damaging for the woman to practise Islam afterwards and even worse for the kids in such marriages.

Polygamy is one of the most questioned principles that Islam grants to men. Nevertheless, like every instruction in the Qur'an, polygamy has a reason. You see, Islam is a practical religion that ackknowledges the needs and temptations of the human beings and provides law to deal with them.

Polygamy might be the solution for a couple where the wife is barren, chronically ill and is unable to perform her marital duties, it may also be a solution when the couple doesnt want divorce, it is the religions answer to cases where some men have excessive sexual needs that cant be fullfilled by one wife. This is in no way means that men should abuse this right and use it whenever they fancy a woman. It is a chance to prevent men from committing adultery.

However, polygamy has some limits and conditions to be met. it instructs every man to be fair whit his wives at all levels, including treatment, money, house etc. The only level where the man may have an uneven stance is the level of feelings that he cannot control.

PolyandryIslam did not allow it because it will create a problem kinship. This means that the child may not know who actually his father is(it could be anyone of the four husbands). In addition to the psychological damage it may cause, this problem also implicates the issue of inheritance. Even birds and animals dont allow polyandry.

question: What is the legal age of consent sa Islam? Pwede makasal, maka pirma og contrata etc.

If biological basis is to be considered, then, as soon as the girl hits puberty stage she can legally marry.

But Marriage goes beyond our biological urges. The best modern answer we can produce is, as long as the girl is mature enough to know what is right and wrong then she is capable to marry.


There also some important factors that needs consideration, like: Time, place, culture, psychological readiness. In the past warriors and kings are said to had an age ranging from 17-21 years old. Now young people that falls under this range mangita gihapon ug mama para mo pakaon nila. hehe.

Sa mga babaye it said that Middle Eastern women matures early. People who had the chance of living in Middle East can attest to the fact that these women have physical features like that of a mature woman.

...I can't claim to know much about Islam..........let me share some of what ive learned:...


Are Muslims Terrorists?

When any kind of massive destruction or terror occurs at any part of the world fingers directly point to the Middle East, to Muslims and Islam.

In a large number of western countries, people think that Islam is a religion of terror and that Muslims are ordered to kill any non-muslim human being! This being obviously wrong and silly, there's nothing more unfair than attributing such actions to a religion, to a whole nation, to millions of humans around the world.

Making things worse, some people use the name of Islam for their own purposes and false beliefs. This, with the awful image that American and Western media introduce about Islam produces a huge misconception.

On the other hand, when a christian guy commits a crime/massacre like in Oklahoma bombings (April 1995) his action is not stereotyped/attributed to his faith/religion.

Do you Remember Timothy McVeigh? The Oklahoma bombings?

In 19 April, 1995. A massive bomb was detenated in a underground car park beneath the Alfred P Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. It killed 168 people. and injured more than 500 others. He's christian and former military soldier. But this has no importance to the media and doesn't mean anything, the guy is christian so what? Now imagine that he was an Arab!

McVeigh was sentenced to death as we all know.

As well as in christianity, Islam allows fighting for self-defense of religion or homes. And also lays down strict laws of combat/war which include prohibitions against harminf civilians, crops and churchs. As Prophet Muhamed said : “Fight in the cause of Allah. Fight those who deny Allah; Do not be embittered. Do not be treacherous. Do not mutilate. Do not kill children or those (people) in convents.”

And Abu-Bakr's (follower of prophet Muhamed) instructions for the Islamic army: “Do not betray or be treacherous or vindictive. Do not mutilate. Do not kill the children, the aged or the women. Do not cut or bum palm trees or fruitful trees. Don’t slay a sheep, a cow or camel except for your food. And you will come across people who confined themselves to worship in hermitages, leave them alone to what they devoted themselves for.”

How come a religion that prohibits cutting trees will order killing non-muslim civilians?

In some minds, there is the image of an Arab horseman carrying a sword in one hand and the Quran in the other conquering and forcibly converting people to Islam.

Freedom of religion is laid down in the Quran itself: "There is no compulsion (or coercion) in the religion (Islam). The right direction is distinctly clear from error." (Qur'an 2:256)

I know that Americans will never forget/forgive what happened in September 11. I imagine myself as an American watching the scene of that plane hitting the tower and pictures of victims played on TV for days and days and linking ALL that to one word : ISLAM.

Of course AL Qaeda/ AL Qaida has taken credit for the attacks. As I said, alot of actions were committed in the name of Islam but this is just not what God ordered Muslims to do. Islam is a religion of peace and mercy.

"If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that heareth and knoweth all things." (Quran 8:61)

The word "Jihad" at its root means "Struggle,". Jihad has been around since the writing of the Koran, which occurred over a thousand years before America was even found.There are two kinds of jihad. The other 'jihad' is the inner struggle of the soul which everyone wages against egotistic desires for the sake of attaining inner peace. The root of the word "Islam" is "Salam" in Arabic which means Peace, and the meaning of the word is Submission to Allah (God).
