Ramadhan.

Its the name of a month in the Islamic calendar known as Hijri. Its the month where Muslims who are in good shape practice what is known in Arabic as Saw'm or fasting in english.

The practice of fasting reminds every practitioner of Islam of the equality of every Muslims rich and poor w/c is given emphasis in Islam by Prophet Muhammad( peace be upon him).

During this one month event, the Muslims are prohibited to have s3x with their partners. They are not allowed to take any forms of liquid and solid foods. There faculties are encourage to engage in spiritual activities such as : reading the Qur'an, memorizing verses, join prayer groups and listen to sermons. They must control their senses and disengaged them from malice, backbiting,anger, lust and anything that spoils the purity of the Soul.

The fasting is done only during daytime, so as soon as the sun hits the ground the Muslims are called to break the fast for that day and joined the recommended night prayers.

“And say: "The truth is from your Lord." Then whosoever wills, let him believe, and whosoever wills, let him disbelieve….” (18.29)


“Say (to the disbelievers): "O disbelievers! I worship not that which you worship, Nor will you worship that which I worship. And I shall not worship that which you are worshipping. Nor will you worship that which I worship. To you be your religion, and to me my religion." (109.1-6)
