OT: I am waiting for JM to cosplay Dragunov. Matatalo ako niyan. hehehe...
Because I look more like Hitler. hahaha... I can't forget na napagmalan ko Hitler ato.

Idol baya na nako si JM. Pareho mi init ug ulo. hahaha...

I think JM was the only one who won in an international competition.

But Jin and Tux team are famous abroad.

Another good point. We cant stop people who really do have the passion for it, people who are willing to put up these events. ARCHcon went through thick and thin for years before it managed to realize its dream of promoting the craft in cebu. Another point was on people who make a costume every convention, i understand thats its not cheap. Of course its not, it takes a bamillion (cough) materials to make up something presentable. I did notice however that there has been a stable rise in the number of people participating. People who want to get into cosplaying because they were at the event and found out that it was possible to pull it off and accepted here. Its not like people are obliged to cosplay every convention. I do believe there are but at some point being a spectator is not so bad.

I retract my past statement changing it to having a con quarterly lang (3 or 4) in a year ample gaps in between each con. The heart of what im trying to say is that i hope that the scene will continue moving forward, more people creating an opportunity for people to present and more people presenting. Its a process and a slow one at that, but one can always dream

p.s forgive spelling issues the i and u button are close to each other. Too many ideas bursting out of head -gomen-

People are still "hangol" for conventions since it's something new in Cebu. Quality wouldn't matter as long as there's a con. That can be bad. This would just send a message to people that hey let's make a convention. It doesn't matter if it sucks. Also, if we have too many we will eventually get tired of it. I am happy to see that a lot of people are into the hobby and there are already a lot of cons. But too many cons is just too many. Well 3 or 4 is fine. But you can't really control people from not making more. Hey, it's the in thing so expect a convention every month next year. hehehe...As for cosmeets, they're not really cons. It's just a getting to know each other thing. I have to repeat that again and again since people always think it's a convention. hehehe...

@Kururu: I am planning to get one. hehehe... I'd like to go paparazi mode sometimes.

Then maybe I'd also punch some idiot just like what JM did. hahaha... Just kidding.

What I do like about people who go is that...

Despite everything, they still try their best to find fun.

Even in the most desperate of times.

It's a very sterling Filipino trait.

    Amen to that

    above all have fun

But we shouldn't always fall back onto that trait all the time and just allow events to suck. >.>

Since if that were the case, then there shouldn't be any events at all and we should just meet up at some random house and dress up like woot thar.

EDIT: Events sucking in the sense that 'Oh damn... If we can't do it right, as long as people go, it'll be okay since they'll figure some way to entertain themselves anyway'

EDIT AGAIN: IMO it's an insult to the organizers if you go to an event and instead of paying attention to the prepared programme they made for people to enjoy, you choose to forego and do your own thing, apart from what they've prepared for you.

    OTL;; Sth like that.

All things in balance and moderation. Heres hoping to a bright cebu cosplay future.

If everything was left to ideals without action then we might as well be a common trend peddled around.

Thank god there hasn't been some kind of lolita fashion convention.

    >_> Simply because those who are part of the local lolita scene aren't so open to it being such a common thing because it will end up losing it's charm and actual manner of practice. Practically everyone is responsible and adheres to some unwritten code of manners and etiquette.

    Meh. Apples and oranges comparison.

I think the Cebu cosplaying community is slowly being recognized. CIT is even sponsoring a cosplaying event for their Intrams. Perhaps the whole otaku scene is being moved forward. CIT -- which is also my alma matter btw and OT -- is also including J-music competitions in their Intrams. X and I are thinking about joining.
