Is Mindanao Really a Scary Region?

I miss Mindanao. I love that place. I've been in:

Zamboanga City - where people speak in Tsabakano ug didto ko sa ila Boulevard ganahan jud ko...
Pagadian City and pinaka banha nga city nga akong naadtuan tungod sa ilang transportation nga pulos lang tricycle lain ila porma ila tricyle kay daghan man gud hills ilang lugar. Hadlok kog matuwad pero wala choice musajay jud ka kay wala may lain way of transportation ngadto.
Dipolog City - where didto si Rizal nag exile ug didto ko sa iyang mga replicas. Then sa pikas is naa didto ang Dakak Beach Resort.
Iligan City - Small but ok ra kay naa may taxi ug jeepneys. Ila jeepneys murag mga 01k sa atoa.
Ozamis City - Didto ko sa ako Lolo kuyaw lang didto tungod kay daghan ngadto crimen. Ambot kaha karun
Cagayan de Oro City - Medyo lapad ug traffic pud.
Valencia City, Bukidnon - The place where I admired most. Murag naa ko sa New Zealand. Bukidnon murag ma compare sya nimo sa Baguio pero mas ganahan ko sa Bukidnon deli sya crowded. Simple ra jud ang mga taw ngadto pero naa may mga dating.

I hope I can visit sa Davao....I miss Mindanao and I love that place.

NPAs raid Agusan Sur police station, seize cop chief

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – At least 50 suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels raided yesterday morning the municipal police station of Sta. Josefa town in Agusan del Sur and reportedly abducted the local police chief.

The guerrillas tied up the policemen on duty during the daylight attack and carted away their firearms and those kept in the armory.

No casualties though were reported in the raid. Authorities could not say how many firearms were taken by the insurgents.

According to initial reports, the rebels, who were wearing camouflage uniforms and were on board a “Sadam” truck, swooped down on the municipal police station at the Sta. Josefa poblacion (town proper) at around 9 a.m. yesterday.

The policemen on duty reportedly thought that the armed men were government troops, and thus were not able to fire at them as they were easily overpowered and outnumbered.

Sta. Josefa is located at the boundary of Agusan del Sur and Compostela Valley. It has a population of around 22,000 people and has an agriculture-based economy.

Dili ni panghadlok ha! Actually people there co-exist with them. I even attended a birthday party of a known personality there where the guests are a mixture of military and NPAs and infact they know each other. Mas daghan ang NPA sa lungsod compared to the mountains.
