Tackie is the water boy.
Parker+Duncan+Popovich+tackie = first round playoffs ra kutod and a very boring team.Oh cmon... you can do better than that. Your antics are getting boring. Seriously. Try harder.Tackie is the water boy.
Or dinha ra ka kutod?
Gortat is being courted heavily by the rockets... and rasheed is being courted heavily by boston... gipadala na silang garnett, ray allen, paul pierce, para pagconvince ni rasheed nga moadto sa boston... pero mas gamit si rasheed sa san antonio and mas mo-fit siya sa system sa san antonio... i can't see rasheed playing alongside garnett. the egos would overlap... hehehe!
Boston Celtics send big hitters to woo Rasheed Wallace, according to report - ESPN
The dude is playing cat and mouse. He's gonna listen to what the Spurs hafto offer and then decide. The Globe, citing a single NBA source, said that Celtics managing partner Wyc Grousbeck, team president Danny Ainge, coach Doc Rivers and all-stars Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, all met with Wallace for three hours in Detroit.
The Celtics are reportedly offering a contract using the mid-level exception, the Globe reported. The newspaper said that Wallace didn't make a decision during the meeting.
Either way, losing Wallace will not be that of a problem as Dice is still free. Both men defend well and can shoot well, only Wallace has a longer range. His problem is that he tends to chuck up A LOT of 3's. Dice has a really nice mid-range jumper; kinda like Kurt Thomas but better. He's also a banger although he's a bit of a tweener between the 4 and 5 (since Wallace is the starting C of the Pistons...).
Gortat is not really a good fit for my Spurs. He doesn't space the floor too well as his jumpshot is nonexistent. He does have good rebounding and shotblocking figures, which we actually hope to get from Blair (rebounding) and Duncan (shotblocking - once Blair free's him up from the rebounding chores).
Bottomline, whoever the Spurs get will not deter its championship run this season. I'm pretty stoked with the current roster and especially with the RJ trade. Hope to give the Lakers a run for their (or Buss') money.
WIIFU (What's in it for us) on the Artest to Lakers trade:
50-50. For the Laker's that is. It could be great or turn into a disaster.
Ron Artest is completely unable to play the role of anything past a #1 or #2 option. He was remotely successful in Houston because they had him in a playmaking role; he isn't a guy that can be a role player due to his mentality and shot selection. He also doesn't play good defense anymore (if you just look at his game really closely). His offense doesn't scare us at all, because it just takes away shots from Kobe and Gasol. His ball-hogging also takes away from Bynum's growth.
His defense will not cause more trouble for us than Ariza's did. Period. Ariza's length on TP is going to be sorely missed; first off, and Artest has never had great success on Manu. I'm unsure of his success on RJ but I'm guessing RJ will still get his points now that he's not the focal point of the offense.
The Lakers got a significant upgrade in offensive talent with Artest over Ariza, but they got significantly worse in chemistry and fit. There are advantages to having a quiet, young roleplayer like Ariza compared to an aging, mind-blown characters like Artest.
The imports-in-waiting: A fourth rebuilding tool
By Jeff McDonald
So far this offseason, the Spurs have demonstrated a willingness to use every tool at their disposal to refurbish their team.
They've swung a trade for Richard Jefferson. They've used the draft to choose one immediate impact player (DeJuan Blair) and one possible impact player (Jack McClinton). At the moment, they are busy scouring the free-agent market for another big man.
There is one rebuilding tool, however, that often gets overlooked. The Spurs already own the rights to a handful of players who have been marinating overseas. At least one of them -- 2008 draftee James Gist -- seems to have a decent chance of making the jump to the NBA this season.
What follows is a glance at the players the Spurs have in the pipeline, their imports-in-waiting:
James Gist
Pos: F
Height: 6-8
Age: 22
Drafted: 2008 second round, 57th overall
The skinny: Spent last season with Angelico Biella in Italy after standout college career at Maryland, but has designs on making the Spurs roster this fall. He's currently working out in San Antonio, and will play with the Spurs summer league team in Las Vegas later this week. With a solid showing, Gist could find his way into silver-and-black in the season to come.
Tiago Splitter
Pos: F/C
Height: 6-11
Age: 24
Drafted: 2007 first round, 28th overall
The skinny: The Spurs are searching for a big man this summer, but Splitter is unlikely to be available. He is still under contract with Tau Cermica in Spain, and the Spurs are approaching the offseason as if he's going to stay there for another season. Maybe next summer.
Robertas Javtokas
Pos: F/C
Height: 6-11
Age: 29
Drafted: 2001, second round, 56th overall.
The skinny: Javtokas seemed ticketed for the NBA when the Spurs plucked him out of Lithuania eight years ago, but hasn't been the same player since a 2002 motorcycle accident. The Spurs have shopped his rights as a consideration in various trade talks, but haven't found any takers. He currently plays for Dynamo Moscow.
Viktor Sanikidze
Pos: F
Height: 6-8
Age: 23
Drafted: 2004, second round, 47th overall by Atlanta. Acquired by Spurs in draft-day trade.
The skinny: Though the Georgian did make one appearance in America -- with the Spurs' summer-league squad in 2007 -- Sanikidze is still toiling overseas. He played most recently in Estonia last season, and remains outside the Spurs' immediate plans.
Nando de Colo
Pos: G
Height: 6-5
Age: 22
Drafted: 2009 second round, 53rd overall.
The skinny: The last of the Spurs' three second-round picks in the June draft, de Colo will play with the Spurs summer league entry this summer. He is still a project player, projected to remain overseason this summer.
kuhaa ninyo si rasheed bro uy... sayang kaayo to. hehehe! para balik ang twin towers sa san antonio... this time, with rasheed and tim...
http://kingjamesgospel.com/2009/07/0...ss-conference/O’Neal went on about how he knew that James was special when he first saw James play his freshman year at St. Mary/ St. Vincent’s. And even went on to say that Lebron, along with Tim Duncan, is the smartest player in the game. And that he is honored to play with “the great Lebron James”.
