The solar eclipse, as viewed from Cebu City, will not be spectacular...only about 1/4 of the sun will be covered by the moon...I doubt that the average person on the street will even notice it.
This is already MAX coverage.
However, at the exact same time (9:42 AM) in Shanghai, this is what they will see over there...

07-01-2009, 02:48 PM #15Nope. Practically the same with the Cebu view. It's not a question of longitude, it's a question of latitude (Cebu and Maasin are roughly at the same latitude). Manila people, esp. Aparri (Cagayan Province) or Batanes people, will probably get 3/8th's worth, since their latitude is more northernly. Ergo, the closer you are to Shanghai, the more "bite" the moon will have on the sun.
