you have to specifically ask if they have special rates for low season, local resident's rates, or special promos that they might have for team building/group activities.

when calling big resorts/hotels for such purposes, it might help to ask to speak to someone in marketing or special events department. if you just call the front desk and simply ask how much, they will just give you the standard rates.
