That's just empty rhetoric. Typical of their leaders. All bluster.

I was at the war museum in Hanoi a few years back. Reading the signs on the museum displays made me laugh my head off. The signs explaining the exhibits were liberally sprinkled with words such as "Heroes of the glorious revolution", "Imperialist Americans" or "the evil puppet regime" (South Vietnam), things you would expect in propaganda speeches but perhaps not in a national museum open to people of all nations. But that's how the communist leadership likes to think and talk, and I guess Nokor leaders are no different.

Actually there is a thin fine line .... with the same motives maybe but NOT whats inside their heads of the games to be played . Its a no brainer ( no pun intended ) . One is remarkably SMART and one is incredibly STUPID and a grader knows which one is which between NOKOR and US of A .

That is true but the thing is , since when is COMMUNISM , COMMUNIST or anything that is associated with the REDS in IDEALS are GOOD ? Again ... not in this lifetime and much more if we let these SOB's run the show , who will be there to make Kim shut his rotten views ? If its the UN , he is in trouble but he singled out Uncle Sam ... that makes him in BOILING WATER now .

Time for Uncle Sam to "liberate" the North Koreans?

Not on Obama's watch, methinks. Obama has a more nuanced grasp of the overarching interests involved in the Korean peninsula than his predecessor.

North Korea does not stand in isolation. Both China and Russia have an abiding interest in the issue. Remember North Korea is a creation of the former Soviet Union. Remember too how, during the Korean War, the North Koreans stood on the brink of total defeat when UN forces under Gen. Macarthur drove them from Seoul all the way to the Yalu River. Then one night millions of Chinese troops crossed the Yalu into North Korea and sent the UN troops into full retreat. That spoiled what could have been the reunification of the Korean Peninsula. The world would have been a very different place had the Chinese not intervened.

Any measure taken against the North Koreans by the United States will always have to consider the reaction by both China and Russia. As a matter of fact, any measure taken by the United States will necessarily have to consider China as key to resolving the crisis.

In the big scheme of things, the United States may not have too many avenues open to it and the military option is not necessarily one of them.

Of course it could always launch a covert operation to destroy the Yongbyon nuclear processing facility and make it look like an accident...

You speak like a Whitehouse insider bai .

So are the UNITED NATIONS and btw ... you are referring to a historical event that is 30 years old .

True but we have to consider also on Chinas position in the map as a strategic location when talking about NUKES and the interest behnd it .

In the big scheme of things, the United States may not have too many avenues open to it and the military option is not necessarily one of them.
Nobody wants war but I tell you that Uncle Sam can give hell to Nokor .

Of course it could always launch a covert operation to destroy the Yongbyon nuclear processing facility and make it look like an accident...
And that is why Kim made such statements of threatening terror because it is the only desperate move left for him .

Sa street lingo pa ... thay cant walk the walk and talk the talk . A true war strategist doesnt advance any motion that can be used against them . Kung mo balik ta ni SUn Tzu ... the ELEMENT of SURPRISE . If you are capable and a badass North Korean dictator , just do it otherwise Uncle Sam can only reply with LICKMYBALLS Mr. Kim .

If they assumed the position of the US forces in the south ... then nabali ang ELEMENT of SURPRISE .
This is assuming of course that Kim Jong-il (if he's even alive right now) and the current politburo are thinking rationally. I'm thinking it would be within their capacity to say, "To hell with it, let's just bomb the Americans."

You just nailed it. They're not capable as of yet right now, hence the tests they've conducted. But what happens when they become capable? To use logic against North Korea may not be very smart, Kim Jong-il is ill (might be even dead) and as Dorothea said, he might want to go out with a bang.
