In 1998 nakadakop ako kauban sa work ug monitor hatchling about 8" to 9"...about the same size lang gyud sa green tree skink we commonly see up on trees. while i was holding it, napaakan ako thumb, I tell you, I was suprised with its bite pressure (despite being small and young)...it was so painful.

so, if what you have in your bodega is already almost 2 feet in length...i'd be really careful about getting bitten. remember, monitors kill chickens. your hand is just probably as delicate as a chicken's body.

these lizards run quite fast so if you wanr to catch it you'd have to close your bodega and rid it of its contents. Yeah a big fish net would be nice if available, once caught make sure you hold the neck area to prevent biting butr make sure not to choke the animal as well. While your other hand will be supporting the pelvic area but both hands should be at the dorsal side kay mapuno gyud ka ug scratches if you hold it from underneath. They can have bacterias in their mouth as most of these lizards are scavengers (except for a few frugivorous ones in other provinces.)
