Default Home of the Pinoy Shippers

This thread is dedicated to all pinoy shippers.

this is our home for the meantime after our mansion *cough* has been erased by the oh so cruel mods at EW.net forums. (justice i tell ya!)

All shippers are welcome, either D/E, H/Hr or whatever. As long as you're pinoy, welcome na welcome ka.

Feel free to discuss your views and opinions here. May it be of Harry Potter or it's star's topic origin is okay by me.

    tuloy po kayo...

    hugs!

    Hi, Shine! Â* Â*Maayo nga gab-i, 'day!Â*

Glad you've started another thread on Harry Potter-related shipping.Â* On a forum that allows us to speak not only the Queen's English but our beloved dialects as well. That's the spirit, girl.Â*

As I've mentioned in the PMs, perhaps we can add/modify the title of the discussion thread a bit, so the HP fans can readily find us. Daghan pud mga Bisdak nga HP fans, uy.

For those uninitiated and/or justifiably confused on the theme of this discussion thread (esp. those who thought this has something to do with trans-shipment, the MARINA or Coast Guard), you are still welcome to stay and lurk around.

I join Shine, though, in clarifying that "shipping" here does NOT refer to the literal "barko", "bapor" or "sasakyang pandagat."
Rather, "shipping" is short for "relationshipping" - and it means championing a romantic relationship between certain characters in the series, either within canon or in works of fan fiction.(source: answers.com, wikipedia.com)
Yes, guys, shipping of this nature really does exist - and you'd be surprised how many passionate shippers are out there.

But please do feel free to jump into the discussion or post your insights/pics here if the topics cover any of the following:Â*
-Harry Potter (HP) films and books
-HP relationships (Harry and Hermione, Dan and Emma, Ron and Hermione, etc.)
-Other subjects related to HP fandom

We appeal, though, that posters practice a healthy respect for one another's point of view, tolerance of diverse opinions, and understanding of polite social interaction.Â* If there's need to express a strong opinion on something, language should be expressed civilly (i.e. disagree in an agreeable manner) and backed by facts or reasonably plausible/logical assumptions.

On that note, I hope to read some insights/opinions on the different relationships present in the HP world.Â*

Sus, I remember the first ship that I happily boarded myself into when I read Book 1 (brace yourslef) BUT it's a ship that never really left the docks in Pier Uno: the Albus Dumbledore (DD) and Minerva McGonagall ship, wud u bilib!Â* Â*
I always thought there was something sweet about the way DD could sense that Prof. McGonagall was the tabby animagus (ok, he's a great wizard and he ought to know but hey, it's a start) or that naughty twinkle in DD's eyes when he handed MM those lemon drops as they stood outside the Dursleys' homeÂ* , or whenever MM would defer to DD's authority or skill as a wizard or express her trust for the man all throughout the series...
    Haay, gugma sa mga tigulang...Â*

Besides, they were the first 2 adult Wizarding World characters you saw in the books and in the moviesÂ* - I couldn't help pairing them in my mind... That's why when DD died in HBP, I took it badly and lurched into maddening nostalgia.Â*
Went into a buying binge of all the books (I never used to collect them but gave them away to kids) and bought all the movies (VCDs, DVDs), gave HP books and movies to friends and mga inaanak last Christmas, and surfed the internet - which consequently led me here...

Apart from being able to insert HP-related topics in whatever conversation I'd be having at work or at home, the most telling proof of post-DD traumatic experience was watching the GoF movie 8 times in a total of 7 different theaters within the first 15 days of its screening in Cebu (E-mall cinema 1 had the best sounds and seats). Watched it again one more time early Feb, on its last day of regular run, on the last screen time (7PM) at Gaisano Tabunok - where I was the ONLY viewer inside the theater.Â* So symbolically, I watched it on the first day, first screening time and last day, last screening. Â* And I'm NOT obsessed, guys.Â* Just in denial.Â*

Ok, with that off my chest and probably scaring off readers and maybe even the moderator,Â* Â* I say ta-tuh.Â* Till next post, and thanks for tuning in, everyone! (err, anyone?)Â*
