lol...it's understandable when you're straight. my straight friends who have seen it cringed at the sight of two guys doing it but they were able to finish the movie and felt something between being devastated and angry. devastated that the two main characters didn't end up together and angry that they had to lie and cheat their wives just so they could consume their need for each other. makalibog ilang gibati. hehehe.
just finished reading the short story 'Brokeback Mountain"..there were indeed sensitive scenes (if i were to imagine) involved but a touching and nice story as a whole..it's all about love of the same ***..love bec. for 4 yrs. of them being apart after spending a summer in brokeback mountain and having families of their own, they still think of each other...
one thing i found funny is that Jake Gyllenhaal is way too handsome as Jack Twist..as described in the story, Jack was short and has buck-teeth..but anyway, it's the movie's marketing strategy..
can't wait to see the film...
yeah, i noticed that too. his face was too handsome for the character as described by annie proulx in the story. in fact, annie proulx found jake's characterization of jack twist to be different but heath ledger's characterization of ennis del mar superb. heath was ennis and ennis was heath.Originally Posted by klavel
i'll be watching the movie later with friends.
Hmm, I've always associated Ang Lee w/ action flicks (and I liked them), but a drama and a movie about something as divisive as homosexuality? Definitely interesting. Will watch... on DVD when it comes out.![]()

can't wait to see the film
A friend of mine who has seen it said that theres heaps of horseback riding (involving Heath & Jake) in this film. So that's an action flick nonetheless...Originally Posted by Viktor

i've just seen the brokeback mountain on the big screen...three times! that sounds ridiculous i know. i was disappointed that the film shown in ayala had some cuts. i have the trailer saved in my work PC and there are scenes there which i didn't see in ayala. i have to say that the film ayala showed sucks. it had obvious cuts, some scratchy noise and stuff. i wanted to make some screen captures of the scenes i didn't see in the movie as shown in ayala but i don't know how. (help?)
i was totally floored by this movie. i nearly cried while i was in the theater with friends but when i got home, that's when the rain started pouring. i couldn't sleep immediately. the next day i was still thinking about it so i went to see it again. i must be a "brokaholic" now.
*in a state of mush still*![]()

maayo kaau siya ug Characterization.
Na surpirse ko na iyang DP(Director Of photography), Rodgrigo Pierto, kay usual niyang cinematogrpahy kay cutting edge unya bizzare moving etc. like Amores Pieros and 21 grams, murag gi tuok man cguro cyang Ang Lee na magpuyo, unya u steady ang cam LOL
Ang Lee is about storya and characters gyud.
i've just downloaded and listened to the entire brokeback mountain official soundtrack. gustavo santaolalla deserves to win an oscar.
did anybody here saw the movie in ayala? don't you think the movie it had some cuts?? after watching the movie 3 times (on the big screen), i noticed three scenes from the movie's trailer that i didn't see in ayala at all. i'm quiet disappointed. i'm going to watch it again from those pirated dvd that my friends bought. i can't wait to buy the original DVD and VCD format of the movie. i haven't bought any pirated BBM stuff yet.
as for the movie being overrated, i think it deserves all the attention it gets, whether media and critic hype or a recognition from any award giving body. true, there have been many great films with gay characters that were shown and released before it but this movie has been very articulate about a range of emotions and issues yet it had been very subtle and un-imposing or un-indoctrinating. it just wanted to portray and elaborate certain human realities that have been portrayed before, though, this time from a different perspective or in a different light.
