Try searching DPRK & China Borders; you'll see a difference like night & day. @the Dandong Lianong province, everything is well lit like a Christmas tree. The trees & grass are greener and the folks are all smiles including the Chinese border patrols. But on the other side of the river, its the opposite! Its Dry, Barren & gloomy lots of dilapidated boats, machineries & buildings. Its like a wasteland...

Einstein regretted ever having participated in the making of the Atomic Bomb. Even the most innocent object becomes a lethal weapon in the hands of a madman. Mao na nahitabo ron with Kim Jong IL. Ambot ning mga tawo sa North Korea nga dili man mag alsa masa.
The North Korean Government do not recognize North Koreans as citizens but only as "Human Resources" they don't value the rights of their people and are forced to work under strict control of the Government..................... a protest will be met with tanks and aircrafts.
For the North Koreans Kim Jong Il is a god. No, make that God. He may look and act like an idiot or madman to us but to North Koreans who have been told so from Day One, he and his father Kim Il Sung descended from the heavens. They owe their very lives to their Great Leader and Dear Leader. The fanatical devotion surrounding his cult boggles the Western mind but that's how it is. We call it brainwashing, they call it Kinder One.
The bottom line here is, don't expect anyone to stage a coup d'etat anytime soon, even with South Korean or American agitation. Not even George Bush entertained the thought of invading North Korea to "liberate" its oppressed people and keep the world safe from the specter of nuclear holocaust. But then again, North Korea is not known to have substantial oil reserves...
And we haven't even begun to talk about the realpolitik of overarching Chinese and Russian interests.
As for nuclear weapons, it is a source of pride for North Koreans and certainly not a reason for anyone from within to overthrow him. Hey, they'll think, it may be a bomb but at least it's our bomb! Now no one will dare mess with us.
As for disarmament, name one country that has ever developed nuclear weapons only to give them up voluntarily. The six-party talks merely bought North Korea time to further its research and development programs sans international pressure. Now that they're already there, why stop the program?
The only way to stop the North Koreans is to do what the Israelis did to Iraq's Osiraq nuclear reactor in 1981: send a squadron of fighter-bombers and vaporize the place. Too late? Can't do it? Tough luck.
