Nobody wins in a nuclear war. Obviously, North Korea's leader has completely lost whatever sanity he had left when he had his stroke. Anyone with half a brain knows that a nuclear war is obliteration, murag kadtong salida nga Mortal Kombat, a fight to the death. Where's your sense of self-preservation, people? Namatay na inyong brain cells cge'g ka expose sa radiation?

(These questions are addressed to no one in particular, am just venting)

America won't step in since a preventive strike (note: preventive, not preemptive) will be immensely stupid. Why? Look up the Iraq war and WMD story. China will be forced to act sooner or later. A war will be bad for them. The number of refugees streaming into their borders will be staggering.

Gates: U.S. ready for North Korea missile

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that the United States could defend itself should North Korea launch a missile toward Hawaii and that U.S. officials are carefully monitoring the reclusive nation's military.

North Korea is preparing to launch a missile over Pacific Ocean waters, Japanese media reported Thursday.

With missile interceptors and radar equipment deployed in and near Hawaii, "we are in a good position should it become necessary to protect American territory," Gates said Thursday.

Meanwhile, the U.S. military is tracking a North Korean ship in the Pacific that is believed to be carrying illicit weapons or technology, a senior U.S. official said Thursday.
