hehehe! tnx bro...d pud tingali oi, mas maau pa man mo nako..daghan lng ko nahibaw-an tungod sa ako papa ug cousins. They're into metal when I was young. I remember stealing tapes from my cousin's room when I was in grade school . He had all the metal stuff that we like such as Mr. Big, Motley Crue, Saxon, Venom, Joey Taffola's Out of The Sun and Savatage
Actually I listen to a lot of stuff not just metal...I even dig Bruce Hornsby & the Range, Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel, Yes, Steve Winwood, 10,000 Maniacs, Depeche Mode, Simple Minds, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Genesis, Eddie Money, EBTG, Fleetwood Mac and the likes.. Saksak sinagol lang ning ako, basta great music, I will surely listen to it...
By the way mga bros., the band that I'm currently digging is Stratovarius. They're from Scandinavia and their music is a mixture of power metal and symphonic metal. Ako lng pud i-share ninyo in case wa pa mo kapaminaw nila Euro Metal FTW
Rock on mga bros.

my older brother was the one who introduced me to hair bands...i remember the days he used to play hair bands tapes...puno gyud na og tapes ang iya closet...hehehe...sad to say he don't play instrument he's more on being a listener...i have another brother who also plays guitar but wa cyay hilig old school rock....im currently beginning to write music na may pgka old skul type...magcover sab ko usahay like ang song ako nacover recently is I remember you by skid row og frayed ends of sanity by metallica...
Stratovarius...gonna check this out...i never heard this yet...this is interesting because it's power and symphonic metal.
cheers bro!!!...what really makes my day is knowing that there are still rockers like you bros to carry the torch of rock & heavy metal on through this generation, your generation, unto the next...what i like best is when a group of music lovers & musicians gather around to share their music freely & with open minds...& it doesn't necessarily mean that we have to agree on everything all the time...but rather that with every opinion that we share, be it similar or differing, we enrich & motivate ourselves to be the best we can be musically...
good for you bro! influence always plays a big role in molding a person, & this does not apply only musically...in my case, my influence is what made my younger brother follow suite & become a drummer...but it didn't stop there, as his closest friends got hitched too & became rockers themselves...soon after forming their own band...
i love rock & heavy metal music, more so because i am a guitarist...but that doesn't mean this is the only music genre i enjoy listening to...that is what musical maturity is all about...i mean, you wouldn't think less of me if i told you that i too listen to hall & oates, bruce hornsby, moody blues, dire straits, billy joel, heart, joan jet, spandau ballet, duran duran, the cars, richard marx, linda ronstadt, the pretenders, vixen, alanis morrisette, avril lavigne, cher, celine dion, mariah carey, kelly clarkson, maksim, vanessa mae, shania twain, natalie imbruglia, the carpenters, simon & garfunkel, the monkeys, the cascades, toni braxton, frank sinatra, tom jones, herb alpert, spyro gyra, al di meola, andres segovia, beethoven, bach, linkin park & even michael jackson among a lot more, now would you?...hehe...
it's really a joy to love music universally...although we can always choose to identify ourselve only to 1 particular music genre, but where would that leave us...we'd be missing out on a whole lot more music out there just waiting for us to enjoy...but we wouldn't want that, would we now?...hehe...
see, now what did i tell you?...here's another band i need to look into - stratovarius (cool name)...thanks again my metal bros...for expressing your musical freedom openly & for your sincere willingness to share your music with the rest of us...in this our metal brotherhood!!!...up the irons!!!...
Agreed...hahahaha! cool artists bro.

nice avatar robotman. i remember my tape scorpions being always passed on during high school. planning to make my avatar soon. im open for suggestions what would it be. thank you dieseldust bro for sharing ideas man. il try it soon on my not-configured-yet laptop hehe. im keeping all of your tips man. i owe you barrel of beer on your wedding day. until now im surprised of guys like you, considering your a lot younger and paying attention to artists of the 70s and 80s. keep going dude and were gonna have metal meltdown..
stratovarius...ive heared from them in my guitarworld magazine but not yet heared from their music. but based on their physical get ups, they are another group of metal maniacs. i remember my megadeth years on this man. i remember when i was still in TC sporting long hair and wearing converse shoes. smoking and feeling-famous. but actually im dumb.
i could share to you my beloved brothers that without my passion to these music weve been sharing, i cannot imagine what would it be, at least for me. it doesnt matter who influenced you to do some rockin with yourself. whats more important is you know yourself very well and thats what makes me proud being here on this thread and in this site. special thanks to the threadstarter hehe i didnt know real friends and real rock can be found here. threading here makes me want to play all my cd and tapes all the time. we learn something from each other everyday.
so keep on wielding those blades my bros and stick to your guns..
@jamespegarido...i also lyk some of the artists u'd mentioned outside the metal scene...aside from mariah carey, celine dion, alanis morisette, avryl lavigne, i also lyk madonna...i also listen to boybands too like new kids on the block, backstreet boys, 98 degrees, nsync, boyzone, ott, take that, and more...my most favorite opm male solo artist is gary v. and on female is sarah geronimo at moment...i still got lots of guilty pleasures to mention...the list would be too long..hehehe
i now have my stratovarius collection -from 1989s 'fright night' to 2005s 'stratovarius'...hehe...thanks again bro dieseldust for sharing this feast of Finnish power metal...they remind me alot of another metal band 'RIOT' (not quiet riot)...striking resemblance!...double-bass pedal-to-the-metal tunes...oh, & jens johansson (ex-yjm keyboards) has been with this band from 1996s 'episode' album...
cheers to you bro robotman!...1 more well-rounded musician in our midst...me too, i dig madonna (& who doesn't, hehe...)...i even listen to spice girls & sugababes (let's just keep it a secret, ok? hehe...)...fave opm male - martin n., fave opm diva - regine v., i listen to 'side a' too...music is a way of life...& i'm glad that it's mine...& yours, my bros...
