Thats kinda... convoluted dont you think? Not your argument, but the relationships between the different counties. Theoretically, the US may object to China and Pakistan having nuclear weapons, but Russia and China may not mind Pakistan having them.

Cuba or Venezuela, which are definitely not US allies, may object to the US having nuclear weapons and feel threatened. Is it right to ignore their valid concerns? Since the amassing of nuclear arms is a deterrent, then wouldnt it be logical for them to feel that having a nuclear weapon of their own would make them safer?

Again, im trying to be pragmatic here.

to own a nuclear weapon is like owning a gun. you own a gun to feel safe but your chances of actually using it is very slim. so the argument as to whether countries should have the right to own nuclear weapons, is the same argument as to whether citizens of a country should be permitted to carry guns.

this should be an on-going debate. 50-50 ko ani.

You cannot view issues like this in black and white. Sure, let's be fair and allow North Korea and Iran to have their nuclear weapons. The question is, how are they going to use those weapons? Are they going to use them as they are used by today's powers? ... as deterrents? or as first strike weapons?

The cold war is over. We do not need another nuclear threat from any country who would use nuclear weapons as a first strike option. There is no logical excuse that any country whose people are struggling to live day to day to have nuclear weapons. It is ludicrous to say that it will be used for defense when none of the powers who already have nuclear weapons will ever use nuclear weapons as a first strike option.

Call me a lying American that spouts propaganda from my mouth, but I cannot and will not ever trust nuclear capability in the hands of regimes the likes of North Korea or Iran. The US has less to be worried about than the Philippines or many other countries. These countries do not have the technological capability to deliver payloads to US soil ... but the Philippines? ... yes. Europe? Yes. China? Yes. Japan? South Korea? Yes.

As a country with a goverment very friendly to the US regardless of every US hating mofo here, the Philippines has more to worry about.

nuclear power must be controlled.. so some have the priviledge some dont.. so its not really a right... the majority f the states must see one state as not a threat to the whole world so the community of state allow you to have your own.. but states such as North Korea is a threat to the world.. they dont follow world orders nor agreement para silang renegade state... their leader is impossible...

would you give a gun to an insane person?

Every country should have the right to harness nuclear energy as a means to improve and better humanity, not as a tool for its destruction. So, my stand is, nuclear weapons should be banned.
