I believe there is a good chance that it will start a war... What happens when a country is being deprived of valuable sources? It will retaliate, initiate war and invade. Just like what Japan did in WW2. With the entire world in crisis, I can't stop thinking that there might be more in this North Korea crisis than meets the eye. If North Korea will launch a nuclear weapon against a particular nation, UN will definitely prohibit other countries from retaliating in the same manner and North Korea is not necessarily at the losing end, if they can play their cards right.

I don't see NoKor being deprived of resources. South Korea, China, and Russia have been giving both military, financial and food aid to NoKor for several years. UN sanctions may try to minimize it, but that's all they can do: minimize.

World War II was a different time. There was a Great Depression at that time; the economic depression we are currently experiencing pales in comparison to the one in the 1930's. No one has the appetite to engage in total war at this time. Like I said earlier, North Korea will be decimated in seconds if they ever decide to attack. NoKor's fate will be even worse if they decided to use nuclear weapons. If they ever did attack, the UN and the United States will have a very good excuse then to invade NoKor and overthrow the government. I don't see how NoKor can 'play their cards right' by attacking their neighbors.
