bettencourt is also a great guitar player...i have their self-titled album & pornograffitti...kid ego & play with me are my fave tracks - i particularly love the solo on kid gloves...washburn wouldn't make a nuno bettencourt sig model for nothing, won't they?...hehe...

bro dieseldust, now i have impellitteri's faster than the speed of light too...hehe...i like his instrumentals most...my faves - spanish fire, 20th century chicken pickin, texas nuclear boogie...his self-titled album contains only 4 tracks...lost in the rain appears in both albums...i also like 'burning' in the self-titled album...great material!!!...thanx again dude...

also, i now have joey tafolla's out of the sun...his sound & picking runs are so crisp & clean yet still packs some punch...i like truce with the king & fire in the lake best, but all his tracks rock too...

it's nice to have these neo-classical rock guitarists to listen to...i've kinda outlistened moore & yjm...though these virtuosos fall in the same rock sub-genre, they each do still have their own distinctive styles & provide fresh ideas for exciting new directions for neo-classical rock to take...
Wow! dalia ra oi, hehehehe! Naa man daun. D kaau ko kauyun ni Yngwie, grabe ra ka paspas hehehe! but naenjoy ko sa iyang G3 Tour with Satriani and Vai...

Marty Friedman, anyone? I have all of his albums too....My favorite is Scenes (produced by Kitaro), kay New Age ang style..Me and my gf are planning to use his track, "Triumph" at our wedding ....His first record Dragon's Kiss reminds of Joey Taffola's Out of the Sun. Ni guest pud didto si Jason Becker, another well-kown shredder from Shrapnel Records. Too bad, Jason has this Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis disease He can't speak but can communicate with his eyes

Mura'g padung na ta's Cacophony ani

yjm is definitely a living & breathing guitar legend...to me, he is the epitome of a rock god in the flesh...certainly a guitar virtuoso & composer extraordinaire...the ultimate prodigy...& undeniably a master showman...right bro! yjm is great to watch live in any of his concerts...i've never seen another guitarist perform with so much ease & bravado, & just oozing with superlative confidence with every cool move...& this is so in the g3 concert...he's so confident with what he's doing...& in the final jam with satch & vai, yjm projects his superiority even more...while vai looked so tense & seemed desperately trying to squeeze out the juiciest licks from his guitar, yjm was so relaxed & portayed a sort of nasty arrogance that comes out of confidence in his own technical skill...cheers yjm!!!...

marty friedman!!! hail to the metal master!!! much of friedman's guitar skill & ability is showcased with his work on megadeth...this guy plays the git with a clubbed right hand (notice the strange clubbed positioning of his right hand when he plays), this is a speed picking technique where the strings are picked from beneath the string level...i've only seen this technique with friedman & george lynch, although lynch's use of this method is not as clearly defined as htat of friedman's...

i have dragon kiss, scenes, & music for speeding...dragon kiss is full of heavy shredders...yes, becker provided additional guitar solos for 'saturation point' & 'jewel'...becker's is such a trajic story...it's really a shame to see such potential go to ruin due to the debilitating effects of lou gehrig's disease (ALS)...

the scenes album is a major redirection in friedman's style...here he wanders into new age territory, & flaunts his musical flexibility, producing moody, atmospheric tunes (at times oriental sounding) like trance, triumph, realm of the senses, among the rest...

nice plan bro! i agree, i think it would really be cool to use the atmospheric strains of triumph at your wedding (imbitaha unya mi ha! hehe)...triumph does sound heavenly & angelic, & could easily pass off as a church hymn...a heavily synth-backed track..

i learned that tony macalpine & paul gilbert played in joey tafolla's out of the sun album...with macalpine handling keyboards & gilbert laying additional solos on some of the tracks...

the friedman-becker project -cacophony...hehe...i have both cacophony albums - speed metal symphony & get off! simply put - double whammy neo-clasical shreddin' at its very best!!!...pure adrenaline packed very meticulously crafted frenzied guitar compositions here!!!...

dieseldust bro yes im from talamban campus but for few years only. lots of memories on that place. i was in a band and feeling-popular because of our music but i was only second guitarist. our drummer and lead guitar was the backbone of the group. i was just kinda replacement... invite us on your wedding man. were proud of you. triumph it is..
all right now..wont you listen..marty friedman.. hello me meet the real me and my misfits way of life. when i started listening to cacophony, i said to myself that something monster is going round here. i first listened to them on a recorded poor quality tape but man..its a trade off. it sounds like their solos came down from the heavens. this kind of music is what the local radio stations is missing. but for me marty is on his best when he started rust in peace with megadeth. you can here the evidence on hangar 18, take no prisoners, tornado of souls...
on G3 that features yjm, i can see that vai and satch gave way to yngwie. vai and satch were like waiting for their turn to shred. yngwie on the other hand keeps on throwing those guitar picks and turning that cream strat through his back and goes shredding and kicking with his left leg. it is really a virtuoso show, his style, riffs, everything even his leather pants and boss pedals. i love watching that G3 compared to john or eric. i had not yet seen paul gilbert with vai and satch tour..i wonder what would G3 be if george lynch is on board..

I saw Marty's gig with Steve Lukather in youtube and he's got a weird picking Mura ako'y maglisud magtan-aw Nice pud bya iyang Loudspeaker ug Introduction (Scenes part 2) nga albums, try it bro!

By the way, ganahan pud mo Greg Howe, Eric Johnson ug Ritchie Kotzen?

i now have loudspeaker & introduction too bro...hehe...don't ask how i got it so fast coz i'm sure you know how...hehe...

eric johnson, the tone master, is another great guitarist i admire...i have 'ah via musicom' & 'venus isle'...cliffs of dover is johnson's definitive tune (which self-respecting guitarist hasn't learned, or at least, tried to learn this great guitar piece?)...showcasing his fretboard mastery & melodic major scalar arpeggiations...i just love the cool jazzy flow of 'manhattan'...& his stevie ray vaughan tribute - S.R.V....

though i heard of greg howe, i never heard his tunes...maybe i'll finally give him a try 1 of these days...

i have that mr. big concert with kotzen on lead gits...he gets his speed from legattos...& that's all i've heard of him...hehe...so far anyway...

dieseldust dude..tyrant was our name and i believe there is a group today also named tyrant. we played poison, firehouse, warrant and other related-90s bands. we had gigs but only those low budget occassions and sometimes invitations. we also played before during tc days..we disbanded a year later because some graduated. i was still on my 2nd year.
man ive seen mr. big featured ritchie kotzen but in my mind, paul gilbert is still the main dude. you can tell the difference on the song green tinted sixties mind. ritchie kotzen is better in his poison gigs. native tongue blues album. and then comes blues saraceno. but again il comment, cc deville is still the main poison dude. ive been listening to cat dragged in, open up... and flesh and blood... these 3 albums are my soundtrack until the end. but i still dont have yet the poison'd album the cover song album. i guess every band has its cover song. any metal or pop band plays cover song. but there is one group ive never heared from them play cover... ac/dc.

same sentiment here...gilbert for me is a far more accomplished guitarist than kotzen...right bro, it really showed in that mr. big concert...technically speaking, i go for gilbert anytime over kotzen (relies too much on legato, & never really uses his right hand to pick any note, in effect, his playing lacks luster, accentuation, & attitude)...gilbert really is the main man!!!...

hey! count me in dudes...i'm a carolinian rocker too (usc-tc)...hehe...that makes 3 of us here in this thread...who else?...

hey, i'm listening to MABs hands without shadows album right now...totally rocks man!!!...check out his tunes - burn, tribute to randy, zeppelin forever...ultra cool!!!...MAB, you rock!!!...

ur ryt dude gilbert is better than kotzen..even during the time kotzen played with poision i still prefer cc deville...though kotzen is a good guitar player but he lacks creativity...im also a fan of MAB try to listen his song 'No Boundaries' then you'll feel like flying...
