i shoot them straight from the box. by the way, what do you mean by lens protection? the lens cap? sorry for my ignorance, im not that very techie yet about photography since im still new to it. the only freebie i got is a cheap lcd guard, lol!^^

as most know, this powerful camera has built-in macro(50-10 cm) and super macro(10-0 cm) thats why i got those shots. although i have crazily made a diy stuff which will help me extend the burst of flash not to be blocked by the long lens barrel when doing a macro or super macro.

it has tremendous features also that one can manipulate everything he/she can think off. i think these features are what a dslr has although im not sure since i didnt buy a dslr. i just studied well its user guide in the free minutes of my work^^ so that i can get to know the camera intensively. i like its user guide book. anyway, i always shoot in manual mode. im just awkward with its shutter button since i get used with my canon a570is ps style shutter before.

si moz basin nakapalit na pod to basta dili gotomon.

lagi bai, its been quite a time i like much photography although im still a newbie yet and i dont have the equipment, wala lang dyud time then this hobby is quite pricey pod. thats why i choosed this kay very wide ang capability sa lens and no need for me to buy other lenses. naa man ang little family business gihapon namo =)

no, the lens barrel is fixed but i have seen on the net that you can equip it with additional lenses(but no barrel, i forgot whats the name with it) to improve wide angles, super macro shots, and other creativity/enhancements.

i bought this twenty plus.

^^ although i haven't tried shooting with a dslr, i believe this can't level up with on some situations since single lens reflex build-up has bigger sensor which embraces light and detail.

anyway, timing kaau. i came to this thread to ask for advice from photography experts. i originally wanted a 450d dslr camera. then i realized it maybe too ambitious for me. newbie pa sad ku and i don't think i'd be really comfortable enough yet to carry such kind of camera. now i'm looking for a compact cam that can take dslr-like quality pics. is there such model? then i was lookig at ur shots and maybe kani nga cam nindot. para naku sad gud i don't want a very bulky cam. i just want something handy.. kanang madala2x ra jud naku bisan asa but can still take great-quality photos. what can u suggest?

thanks chipmunk. apparently, you're not using one. no, it's other than the lens cap. it's something that you can put at the tip of the lens barrel to protect the camera lens from accidental scratches, bump, dust ,etc. while in use. typically adapter w filter glasses(?) ni sa slr pa to serve that purpose as well. ako na basa kay pwede ra kuno mga 52mm filters pero daghan pud nag sulat na flimsy daw kay dili gyud threaded ang barrel end sa sx10. btw, how's the lens hood? kupot raba? anyways, nag inquire lang ko kay i'm still haven't decided if i order one or not & i need to make the decision very soon. thanks!

pareho pud ta ug dilemma before bro, slr or not. i've own an olympus camedia digicam (c-series, can do full manual) way back 10yrs ago so i'm quite have a good handle when it comes to basic camera usage. i've handled quite a few times when my bro got his new 40D, nindot gyud hinuon. but i can't see myself magdala dala ani na bulky camera around hehehe, i don't need an ego booster, lol. pero seriously, it boils down to how serious you are w your photography. kung pirmi gyud ka mag piktyur2x then it may be a wise move to get an slr to get you right on track. bear in mind, it can get pretty expensive pretty fast coz you'll crave for better lenses that your buddies have, inggit mode, hahaha. anyways, a lot of discussions you can search about that topic.

if budget allows you, i've read the G10 is good pretty good as sub for dslr. panasonic LX3 is well reviewed, too. naa pud daghan canon ixus models na nindot pud & some fujifilms are well reviewed too. depende ra gyud bro kung what feature are you going for. unfortunately, not one p/s carries it all. good luck!
