Swerte kaayo ning mga cars nga carburetor ang gamit, sayon ra ma tauran ug GEET. Mas sayon pa gyud ang diesel engine. Kung ang concerned sa mga tao mao ang pag reduce sa pollution, sayon ra kaayo na and you don't need a fuel injected car nga kalas ug fuel with a bunch of unwanted sensors and electronics. Bisan electric hybrid di kalabaw sa fuel efficiency sa car with GEET system even as a booster lang.

    More light on this Subject:

Allright, we have a similar topic up on this.

We have our resident Chemist give his opinions on this , and this is what we have come up with.

Before we say it may be harmful or not compatible lets look at what it really is.

    Per Chemist:

E10 is the term used for 10% ethanol substitution. E10 gasoline is a mixture of gasoline and ethanol (ethyl alcohol) - 90% gasoline and 10% ethanol

Ethanol also increases the octane rating of the gasoline. Economically it's good to substitute part of gasoline with ethanol...(ethanol is cheap!!!)...and it increases engines torque.

Ethanol content in gasoline can go higher -

Of course some modifications on our vehicles are needed for higher ethanol containing gasoline. one is the fuel-air mixture sa carb, with ethanol, less air is needed for the combustion...

A member asked if this can destroy Carb, or rubber parts within the car

    Chemist:
Note more test are being done, but this is a point that need to be taken

ethanol mixed in gasoline is the same as the alcohol we are drinking...beer...rhum..rubbing alcohol...etc

opinion doesn't pose a threat to rubber parts in carbs or lines

10% ethanol is used in gasoline because this is the acceptable level for no modification to be done.

But if we go solely on Ethanol...then modification is a must...

ethanol is produced very cheap.. its fermentation...it's like making wine...then distill to concentrate the alcohol...

all materials made of cellulose can be processed to produce ethanol...

    Furthermore..........

Its Methanol, that destroys engines seals , rubber parts etc...

methanol is an additive to fuel for racing...that is why when using this, one needs to clean engine, check right away because it is corrosive, this is what destroys regular engines faster

this is the chemical formula of methanol : CH3OH

    and for ethanol : CH3CH2OH

Methanol is easier to burn but harmful to people and engine.

Although I am amazed that mixing ethanol would help lower gas prices , why is it still high?

We will be testing this kind of fuel on a carbed engine, and tell u the results. Note it will not be quick but in time Smile

we`ve been using this type of gas here in vancouver for about 10 yrs now.
Because it is easy to manufacture and process and can be made from very common crops such as sugar cane and corn. i would say it will add 3-4 ocatane, i did nothing to modify my car.. murag ok paman ako awto.. both on efi and carburated vechichle"

    Hope this helps

I am blending denatured alcohol sa akong gasoline (on the same tank), maka solved pud ni sya sa problema nga naay nasagol nga tubig sa gasoline aron di mag palyar. Acetone is also blended on the same tank sa gasoline.

For Nissan, 1995 and up compatible man kuno.

For carburetor, be aware lang pud sa mga wala pa kasulay ug high dosage of ethanol sagol sa gasoline, kanang mga karaang hugaw nga mi varnish na sa fuel lines nimo, mangatangtang na when using E10. Time will come ma clog imong idle jets ug fuel filter. One week of using Petron Extra Unleaded with 10% ethanol mixed with Caltex E10, yabo ang hugaw sa akong fuel lines, didto nag bara sa idle jet. Ma solve ra man nuon ni ug dali by choking the carburetor at high rpm aron ma banlas ang mga hugaw during high engine vacuum. Pwede pud gamitan ug carburetor cleaner or bungkagon ang carburetor aron limpyohan. Once limpyo na tanan, you can continue enjoying a cheaper fuel kung Caltex E10 pero kung Petron or Shell, mahal gihapon. hehe

di ra gihapon ma obsolete imong carburetor and you can even set your ignition timing mas advance gamay for more power when using E10 sukwahi sa ilang ingon nga luya ang E10 than unleaded gasoline.
