dili man scary ang mindanao... the region has a lot of wonderful places / travel destinations to explore.. it depends on which city ka.. unless your planning to reside in Basilan or in some remote places, sa mountains na mga hide out sa mga terrorists.. haha

i'm from sultan kudarat.i've lived there for almost 20 years..i've lived in south cotabato when i was studying in college...people are so nice, walay mang-snatch ug mang-holdap didto..pwde ra ka maglaag with all your alahas on...

I was born and raise in Butuan City-- Southern part of Mindanao, I totally disagree that Mindanao is a scary place.

i grew up in jolo, sulu, 12years to be exact...my parents sent me and my siblings here in cebu to study and for safety purposes...i must admit scary dd2 ky grabe and kidnap esp. kung hurot na ang pondo sa mga kidnappers...delikado sd for girls ky pangasaw.on lng ug kalit kung matypan sa mga laki dd2 bsan wla kaila and kung d madala sa storya ug sa dowry ky kidnap dayon. hehe...but otherwise, beautiful and very blessed gyud ang place...low cost of living, lami gyud puy.an...u can find all kinds of fruits there and also the nicest beach in ur entire life, makaingon gyud mu nga wla ra nakatunga ang boracay...very rich in seafoods, mao na napul.an nalng mi kaon ug blue marlin, lapu-lapu, crabs, shrimps, lobster etc etc, hhhaayy, ordinary ra nang mga pagkaona namu ky barato ra mn au, also ang fruits, very cheap like magosteen, lansones, mangoes, durian, banana and a lot more...i am also proud to say that the culture and trandition of the tausug tribe are very well preserved and are still being practiced and past on to the new generatios...people there are also educated esp. mga tao naa sa town, evry year daghan mu graduate and pass ug board exams in various courses, commonly are lawyers, doctors in medicine, engineers, nurses and dentist...all that are mentioned usually got their education in zamboanga, cebu and manila...honestly, datu almost tanan tao dd2, daghan gold dats y very common ang pawnshop nga business...wla sd snatcher dd2 ky bsan pobre napuno ug alahas sa lawas...hehe...ultimo pin ky made of gold pa...and true gyud na ang gold na ngipon, dghan mo makit.an dd2...tag.iya sa weesam nga fastcraft ky taga jolo...grabe, dghan jud ko pwede maingon bout jolo, it will take me a lifetime...there's no place like home gyud! i am proud to be a TAUSUG!

fact: during the japanese era most of the population in jolo are chinese (about 75%) and started the barter trade...after the war, natives transfered and stayed in the town of jolo and outnumbered the chinese in which theywere forced to transfer to different cities outside jolo.
