I see. Do you believe that the Roman Church committed a MORTAL SIN for condemning those people and for burning Bruno at the stake?

well, perhaps it was a mistake, particularly if one looks at it from hindsight (especially to those who do not appreciate the intricacies in historical interpretation)

Perhaps it was a mistake? You are not yet sure that it was really a mistake? How come Pope John Paul II asked for forgiveness of the crimes sommitted by the Roman Church?

So, the church was still pure and intact even though those people including the POPE himself commiteed a MORTAL SIN? I see.

yes i am not sure. and i am not the pope, though the pope asked for forgiveness, it does not make me yield to believe that it was completely a mistake.

So, if it was not completely a mistake would you say that it was just purely an accident and the church was just so naive and innocent of her actions?

I think you must also undersatnd the idea of that time, how everyone understand the idiology and philosophy, culture of those times, Men are not perfect, and we commit mistakes, but what is important the men in authority have learned so much as we, and it was not even hidden from history and it was not even hidden that our imperfect leaders have ask forgiveness for its crimes.
