yori, i witnessed just last sinulog. a frat group being one of the contingents, having giants, floats and etc... nga nagkagubot sa Ibank sa mango. i think naa silay contra nga frat nga naay booth along sa sinulog route. what happened was, naglinabayay, dinaganay, etc... luoy kaayo ang mga inocenteng way labot nga mga tao with their kids etc... this i think is gara-gara.

i'm not a fratman but i'm still saying it anyway. you say walay right mo-sulti but do you think naa silay right magsugod ug gubot sa sinolug nga daghan inocente? my point is if you don't want negative public opinion, like some comments here, work for it.

sakto ka nga dili dapat i-generalize, your frat may be non-violent, but the public man gud basta frat mao nana, tungod cguro your names almost sound the same.

Frat frat na pud ang isyu diri.

Each frat is unique and naa siya kaugalingon nga tradition. Â*Requirement gyud ng initiation, that is to test one's commitment, and to know one's character. Â*This will not just be a test to the pledgee but also sa initiator and the frat he represents.

There are many outstanding frats out there! Â*And outstanding members as well. Â*One has a choice actually - join or not. Â*This group or that group. Â*What's in it for me? Â*Or my actions contribute for the betterment of the society?

I think the article is mostly about men's reaction to violence, then relate it to frat violence. Â*She is entitled to her own opinion though. Â*

If you are a frat hater, don't sit beside them when they're in a group. Â*I am not saying na violent na sila. Â*Pero basin ikaw ma violent ug paminaw sa ilang istorya.

If you're thinking of joining a frat, think well. Â*Listen around. Â*If you think you are physically, socially, intellectually and psychological capable, choose well. Â*Lisod na ang masipyat kay maalanganin nya ka.

I'm not part of any fraternity.. But I used to think fraternities were created for the good of our society.. I'm now in medical school and we also have fraternities of our own.. but we don't do hazing and the initiations are practically controlled and made known to the school... And there are countless projects done by these fraternities such as medical missions and outreach programs.. That's the kind of fraternity I want to join.

But in my college years when the news was filled with frat wars and killings, my view on fraternities were distorted. Thankfully when I entered med school I saw what a true fraternity was all about.. Helping each other within the brotherhood and at the same time reaching out to our society I wished other fraternities would realize their weaknesses and focus on their strengths and how to use that strength to empower our society..

fafa FK ..... there just things in this world that is noteworthy reserve for the information of the members alone . Its ok to ASSUME because you are entitled to it and everyone else here .

hmmm... join? nahhhh... there are many ways in helping the community aside from joining a fraternity.
True ... and so are fraternities are form not to SHOW-OFF but just do the thing they are meant for their existence .

mao na fraternity... dili pagka barbaric ang gi-promote (IMO).
Again bai , it may apply to some members but its not the FRATERNITY SYSTEM . WHat is your opinion on those " BARBARIC INDIVIDUALS " also but are non fratmens ?

    @ RIKODIKO

@spring: ok, let's not generalize, your frat may not be beating anyone during initiations and so on... the point is, it is a given fact that there are deaths during these rites, everyone knows that - fratmen and non-fratmen, media-sensationalized and not. that can not be changed.
That happens only when IRESPONSIBLE MEMBERS are present . FRAT MEMBERS and the FRATERNITY SYSTEM are 2 totally different entities .

and it still happens nowadays. now spring, why are there deaths grabe na man sad na, i mean that's a life taken away.
When is the last time youve heard of DEATH due to HAZING ? AFAIK .... justice was also serve on those people resonsible for the deaths of NEOPHYTES .

i don't question the existence of frats, no prob man na. it's just that grabe na sad nang namatay tungod sa frat.
Life goes on . Joining fraternities is not like RAPE . Both parties have consent thats why a WAIVER existed , it may not be on all frats but majority of the fraternities .

btw, i'll just not divulge no more sa UP thing on my last post ha, i was just trying to make a point.
No problem , otherwise ok ra man pod other than kung ang information nimo is gikan ra pod sa media diay then nevermind .

MIND if I COMMENT on THESE ?

yori, i witnessed just last sinulog. a frat group being one of the contingents, having giants, floats and etc... nga nagkagubot sa Ibank sa mango.
Lets cut the chase , its AKP and TGP again .

i think naa silay contra nga frat nga naay booth along sa sinulog route. what happened was, naglinabayay, dinaganay, etc... luoy kaayo ang mga inocenteng way labot nga mga tao with their kids etc... this i think is gara-gara.
Cause and effect . Ug walay manghilabot , walay mahilabtan . Dont you think ang AKRHO ni join sa SINULOG for that steep reason ? Aron inig labay namo sa ilang booth LABAYON namo sila ?

i'm not a fratman but i'm still saying it anyway. you say walay right mo-sulti but do you think naa silay right magsugod ug gubot sa sinolug nga daghan inocente? my point is if you don't want negative public opinion, like some comments here, work for it.
I / we dont need to . You have to understand the FRATERNITY SYSTEM first before doing that by telling us . You know why I said that ? The issue is only AKP and TGP but we are talking about the whole FRATERNITY SYSTEM of the PHILIPPINES .

sakto ka nga dili dapat i-generalize, your frat may be non-violent, but the public man gud basta frat mao nana, tungod cguro your names almost sound the same.
Then its the PUBLICS fault and not the FRATERNITY SYSTEM . Unsay na ani sa publiko ? WALA ! CHISMIS and SPECULATIONS ginansya kaayo hinuon bai .

Like what someone said , its your CHOICE . The specific fraternity is only the SHIP , you are still the captain and you are the one steering the decisions and responsibilities .

But in my college years when the news was filled with frat wars and killings, my view on fraternities were distorted. Thankfully when I entered med school I saw what a true fraternity was all about.. That HAPPENED already ,we are just looking at the small picture and its just that majority of the point of views of the public were corrupted by wrongful and false reports by the media . Nindot man himuon ug topic ang fraternity gud sa Cebu sa local newspapers kay mahalin gyud .

I will stop for a moment on replying issues and let the iSTORYANS give their point of view and opinion mapa NEGATIVE or POSITIVE man but to those new and some old members , a lot of your questions has already been answered here :

yep i know bai that the intentions of a fraternity and its system does not include hazing... but it's a fact also that there are indeed fraternities who are engage in such. and this are one of those things that brings fraternities into bad publicity.
