questions for Digital Music Makers with regards to ReWire & more

i have a little musical background. i play the bass, self-taught
i'm still new to making digital music. i have no idea bout mixing & mastering (willing to learn tho)

using:
Windows XP SP2
FL Studio as sequencer (with some downloaded soundfonts)
Reason as rack [instruments n drums] (pure stock sounds)
no mixers, no hardware interface, no midi controllers & no studio monitors
i'm using an Edifer m1300 multimedia speaker


1. tutorials say that its not good to do mastering in FL Studio... why is that?

2. with that in mind can i ReWire another DAW for mastering?
sample would be ... Reason - FL Studio - MasteringDAW
*tho i think this eats up your RAM*

3. in the long run is this a good practice?

4. any tips for beginners? tutorials? websites? videos?
