well, the book was not really written by a geisha so we cannot validate its integrity. and we don't the history of a geisha or how their life is supposed to be lived. But its a good and interesting read just the same, fiction or not

Yeah, it's an interesting read. That's the joy of reading; it transports you to places (libre pa) and opens up boundaries. I LOVE books!

geishas are not prostitutes...they do not sell *** for money....they maybe "kept women" but that is different from being a prosti...a mistress although considered "the other woman" we don't label as prostitute right? Japan has a very rich and different culture ...it is difficult to just generalize based on limited info...also japayuki is a term that literally means "somebody who works in japan"....so not just those in the entertainment industry are japayukis... even Filipino engineers, caregivers, machinists who work in Japan are japayukis...so i guess you know what i mean
