As I mentioned earlier here in the post, if you tend to panic while on sleep paralysis...one of your worst (or let's just say your BEST) fears will took its toll. You will see what you don't want to see and you will hear what you don't want to hear. Limbic area of the brain is really powerful....this area controls our emotions (This area houses all the emotions involved like pain, agony, excitement, etc).
Kasuway gani ko nga pag-sleep paralysis kita ko ug itom nga tawo but then nawala ra man tong akong go-relax akong kaugalingon.
ritchepaul is correct, let me add on something since ang brain is lack of oxygen supply, the brain tends to create a brain wave that causes hallucinations like seeing black figure or nay white lady so on and so forth, dinhi na mo sud ang superstitious beliefs... what i stated in my previous post juz relax and stay calm and breath normal don't panic...
no one died in sleep paralysis only in "bangungot"(SUND)...

i experienced this a thousand times na, since i was in 15 years old pa..until now im already 25.every week maka-experience ko ani mga thrice to five times..its part of my daily routine na..mahadlok sad ko pero murag na used na sad ko..i see images around me..they are so real for me..i dont know.there are times that someone is holding me or shaking my bed..or just standing at the corner..i cannot talk and move my entire body..but i can clearly hear..just recently lang nko nahibaw-an nga sleep paralysis diay tawag ani..daghan pud diay naka-experience ani..google lng ninyo kay naa didto tanang possible causes sa sleep paralysis which is so true for me..wla pay tarong nga explanation kung nganong makakita ug images during the paralysis..right now im trying to avoid this by not being so stressed..drink milk, eat just enough before sleep and try to change sleeping positions kay maka-affect man sad ni...google na lng, and you will have the answers..
Actually Sis, this phenomena were already explained more than a decade ago from Stanford University. It seems that this explanation weren't spread out because this kind of research aren't accepted openly by the general public. As I've written here previously, it is a half state...we're awake and dreaming at the same time so what we see and hear seems so real but actually it is not.
The Contradictory-Sensory Input (this is a part of our brain which controls the visual-audio-senses from avoiding conflict or for short, it's primary functions is to prevent us from hallucinating) in a dream state is down to zero % (naka-off) and when we experience sleep paralysis, naka-off pa gihapon ni and sabayan dayon sa atong mga inner fears------>which is stored in the Limbic Area.....tua! We see things what we don't want to see and we hear things what we don't want to hear.
