Albert Camus is an existentialist philosopher although he didn't like the association but his works bear the imprint of existentialist ideas according to literati. "Existence precedes essence" is fundamental to existentialist thought or in practical view -- one is not born a man but becomes one when he exercises his manhood.
Camus was a prolific writer covering as far as quasi-philosophical treatises to essays; from non-fiction to novels. He is famous for The Myth of Sisyphus, The Stranger and The Rebel.
My acquaintance with Camus is just so recent (2008 ) after I was enthralled by his literary virtuosity on The Myth of Sisyphus. I'm a Camus afficionado by definition than an expert.
I'd be interested to exchange insights here![]()

i hope there is no wordplay in here
life -- regardless how hard, miserable and absurd -- can be made worth living. suicide is not a worthy option. one doesn't find meaning in life; one makes life meaningful.
reminds me of jessica zafra: this sick world is trying to break you. by sticking around you annoy the hell out of it.
hahaha...mindplay hinoon naa.![]()
Absolutely! Camus once also said "The truth is that everyone is bored, and devotes himself to cultivating habits." ~ Albert Camus, 1948, The Plague
Hence, we define our being.
Right. And when someone sh!ts on your shirt, one can either wear it or wash it. LOL

unsay pasabot sa iyang revolt? kanang naa tay g.damgo pero ang circumstances gpugong na to mao revolt ta og di ta pada sa circumstance?
just tell me if you prefer the questions to be in english
saup diay nang damgo hehehe,,, what is revolt for him? I understood revolt as fight for change but it seems that revolt for him is to fight for maintaining the usual, the habit,,, pareha sa mga plays niya mao sa akong nasabtan
When Camus said that the absurd is born between the meeting of the world and of life,,, mao mana sa,,, does he imply pessimism?
as much as possible, let us try to understand camus as he is and not as we want him to be,,,,, kahibaw naman kos basic sa existentialism hehehe pero ganahan kong camus kay obvious iyang observation pero wa kaayo nato matagad
